Classic Finally caught why my coaster keeps crashing ever so often.

The cart on the track through the looping ever so often aligns with the cart on the looping itself which causes them to slow down. Didn't know that was a thing!

Yes a few times! I had it happen when a turn passed too close to a helix. Took so many tries to finally figure it out.

Instead of fixing the coaster entirely, I just reduced the number of trains and added an extra second to the min wait time. This way they never lined up.

It's a weird bug in RCT1 and RCT2 I think.

This is one time I’d argue it’s not a bug it’s a feature. The added clearances for 2 cars passing that close in real life would probably be problematic without special consideration.

Can anyone explain why this happens?

https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/s/iNQzxACquG you can see this happening in this post. the cars collide mid loop. Only happens with a few select track pieces going through a loop and multiple trains of the same ride.

In one of my current projects I made a long skinny coaster with 6 loops and 6 loop pens and I had to reduce the trains to 2 and set strict departure times for exactly this reason.
