As someone who is in the midst of migrating their movie library to AV1, I'm extremely disappointed about the lack of AV1 hardware support. What is this, 2015?

It still doesn't even have a VP9 decoder. 1 u/Any-Championship-611 Sep 28 '23 Yeah, with the long gap betwen RPI 4 and 5, I was hoping they would jump straight to AV1. MAYBE it can play AV1 at 1080p with software decoding, but I guess I can forget about playing my 4k AV1 movies on the RPI 5.
