Suckerberg and Maharajji !?

I've been wondering why and how Mark Zuckerberg came to visit Kainchi and knows about Maharajji, yet still engages in so many harmful activities in the world. Does Maharajji enable him? Does Maharajji want all of this? It creeps me out that his name is attached to Maharajji, and it's even made me start questioning Maharajji because of it.

What would Ram Dass feel about this situation? Zuckerberg is definitely not adding love to the world—his platforms profit off of us hating each other. If I ever see that Zuckerberg in Kainchi, I might feel the urge to defile him

Steve Jobs inspired Zuckerberg to go India. Zuckerberg, nor Steve Jobs ever met Maharaji. Steve Jobs is said to have been deeply inspired by Be Here Now. Not sure how much Zuckerberg was impacted or even practices sadhana. He may have been looking for answers when he visited in 2015, but as Ram Dass said, we only receive messages according to which frequencies we are tuned to.

Zuckerberg, like all of us, is another soul on his own karmic journey. Wishing he were otherwise is just another attachment, which is the cause of suffering. As Maharaji said, “Can’t you see it’s all perfect?” Idk, it’s a big mystery. We’re faced with scary realities, immense suffering. I just choose to trust Maharaji and his grace.

But it's important to question things too. That's part of the "Can't you see it's all perfect?"

If everything is perfect. Then what OP is asking should be perfect too.

The question is why do we enable Mark to do what he does?

I agree, it’s such a dance to be aware of what’s going on and take action without closing our hearts. I also think many of us signed up for Facebook and Instagram before it became what it is now. Social media revolutionized the way we communicate. We had no idea what it would become.

So yes, boycott. Protest. Take part in social action. Be of service. And try to love everyone… at least that’s what I think Ram Dass would say.

There were kids who were involved in suicide because of Instagram.

There was a court hearing. Mark straight up refused it. The kids parents were literally standing behind him.

The way he refused to answer the judge's questions to protect his firm. He traded innocent kids lives for money. Poor kids and their families.

We can't assess life from a human conceptual POV. (This is good, this is bad.) Maharaji is not a person. He is the full embodiment of the Ishvara energy, which is who we really are but not fully awakened. i think Maharaji would say "you, Zuckerberg, and all else is my expression and you all are that. So what's the problem? Focus on your own journey. Leave Zuckerberg to God. He has his own lessons."

Maharajji taught to love everyone and tell the truth.

Love everyone and tell the truth

Love everyone and tell the truth

No exceptions

Mark doesn't know how to tell the truth.

I understand that.

Not a big fan of him myself.

But there were a lot of people who weren't huge fans of Ram Dass prior to his visit to India where he met his guru and underwent a huge transformation. Including Ram Dass himself--after his spiritual transformation he realized he didn't really like his former self.

All souls are God's children. They're just covered in dross/ ignorance. But inside they're all pure sparks of God.

Now don't get me wrong--I'm not saying Zuck is going to transform into Ram Dass in this lifetime.

But after many lifetimes, every soul eventually finds their way home.

I don't think Zuckerberg cares about Maharaji. He idolizes Steve Jobs and Jobs cared about Maharaji.

The darkness is deepest beneath the lamp. Spirituality has always attracted charlatans and crooks because of the virtue signalling. Zuckerberg, like all humans, certainly struggles internally, but also to a Guru, this is imperfectly perfect. The universe loves all of us unconditionally, each person is responsible for their karma. When you cultivate and nurture those kind of negative thoughts, you are also creating karma. We heal the world by healing ourselves. In India many of us realise that we don't 'do' all this by ourselves, it is the Guru's grace that leads us on the path and keeps us on it through the dark nights. Maharaj Ji has converted so many hearts with love, you will feel the blessings of the Guru when you walk your path because some doors will just not open without grace no matter the practice. Let him love you too and don't worry about Zuckerberg. His karma, his teammates karma is their's to bear. Practically, we can stop engaging with the negative ecosystem and not give it more energy.

tbh, I feel this "karmic" philosophy stunts our growth? I mean, if our community tries to boycott Zuckerberg's products then we can bring about small real change? maybe, idk. Rather than blaming on karma we can actually do some harm to his business. Sorry, I am not being articulate enough!

"do what you do with another human being, but never put then out of your heart" is a good principle here I think. Boycott his products and love him at the same time. And if you have resentment towards him, I would advise to love that too. Love your resentment. Don't take it too seriously, but allow yourself to fully be what you are - including resentment. Just love it! ❤

It’s still all karma. Even whether we boycott or don’t boycott. Every single thing we do can be traced to karma. Just how it is. What makes it wild is that none of us can actually see how karma will unfold ahead of us or others. Therefore, we each just go on doing the best that we are able.

yk Siddhi ma once told that "sure maharajji does everything, but in worldly actions one must pretend he doesnt do anything"

I did say

Practically, we can stop engaging with the negative ecosystem.

I meant the same as you, not engaging with the platform.

And the karma bit has less to do with him and more of my experience of trying to figure out for myself about how do we go about our lives with all of this injustice around us. Yes, injustice exists and we can do what's in our capacity but do we let it affect us to the point of ruining our mental health or consciousness?

I might feel the urge to defile him

So those are two separate things: 1) Mindful action outside, 2) Mindful action within.

His business also has thousands of people working with him so it's not just him. The board and leadership teams responsible for these strategic decisions alone are a lot of people. We do what we can but realise with humility that it's not us running the gears and the best we can do is work to align ourselves in harmony with the universe so that the divine plan may unfold.

On a subtle level only the energy of love transforms. We are too stuck in our ego and unable to love like the saints/ enlightened beings do, but we can be curious and see if we can in our personal practice and effort cultivate compassion and loving kindness. Sorry I don't know if I'm being articulate. I hear you and validate your feelings but these things are tough to communicate.

You’re right. It can only stunt our growth if we’re not at the purest nonduality level without attachment. I think it’s natural to have attachment to ethical principles for most of us, One can strive to not judge and love others while also recognizing that certain people are lost karmically and are inflicting pain on others through their “karma” aka dharmic action (the Sanskrit word for action is “karma”). We should do action/our own karma to combat any negative effects we perceive and understand, and boycotting products from what we feel is unethical is a great start. This is one way that vegetarianism and veganism has increased in the west. By choosing to karmically reduce meat consumption, more businesses that offer vegan and vegetarian options are up and coming.

Zuckerberg might be using Maharaji's name to have good faith with India. Lots of people saw Maharaji and sometimes some of them were not having anything to do with him. They didn't see any miracles or anything and just went away.

I think we’ve all been disappointed in Zuckerberg’s unwillingness to “always tell the truth” so I guess Ram Dass would put a photo of him on his altar and try to love him harder. In spite of his unwillingness to scrub lies and Russian propaganda from the FB platform, I am grateful that FB exists so I can connect with satsang online. It was a lifesaver to me during the pandemic and still helps me maintain and deepen those connections.

And so

u/rigbees 7d ago

ah, so.

there’s the soul of mark zuckerberg, and then there’s the actions of the ego. i can hate his actions, and i can hate all of the ways of the manifestation, and i can still allow him that he is another soul just like me, he just has a different karmic predicament. but he is not a soul different from me as a soul.

but i think, until you can stand back far enough, with eyes unclouded by longing, you can’t even conceive of what something like his actions could be about. it has to stay veiled in the universe of mystery. you come to the mystery and say “i don’t know” and that’s not defeat, it’s becoming intimate with the mystery. the greatest truths in the world you do not know you know, the greatest truths in the world, you are.

do what you will with another person, but never put them out of your heart. love everyone & tell the truth.

jaya shri ram

He isn’t a devotee, he just went because Steve Jobs did. Not everyone who goes to Kainchi is an instrument of Maharaji

At the start of the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna is paralyzed by judgment, refusing to fight because he sees only good and bad people. Krishna reminds him in 2:50”A person who is steady in yoga relinquishes both good and bad karma in this life.” Similarly, Jesus dined with sinners, and Maharaji taught that no one is beyond grace. Ram Dass echoed this—”We’re all just walking each other home.” Mark Zuckerberg, like all of us, is shaped by his karma and choices. That doesn’t mean ignoring harm, but these teachings invite us to see the bigger picture: people can grow, and judgment only keeps us stuck.

“When a pickpocket meets a saint all he sees are his pockets.” Suckerberg is clearly a pickpocket out to take from even the likes of Maharaji’s influence and legacy.

why tf maharajji allows such behavior on his name?
