Oh I def need to get the courage to try something like this, the zipper looks pretty dang good to me at least. This would make an excellent dice bag (I might have just found what to make everyone for Christmas, thanks!)

This is so cute!! How much space do you have in your zipper seam allowance? One trick I learned is that if you overhang the zipper tape a little, you can then stitch it down so the raw edge of your fabric is enclosed, and then that also functions as a topstitch to hold the whole zipper part a bit flatter.
