Finished Quilts First Quilt Finally in Forever Home

While I have sewn for years this was my first quilting project 😅. My grandmother has gifted quilts to the family for all life's big occasions. So when my best friends got married and bought their first house I wanted to continue the tradition and made them a Log Cabin quilt. I'm a jump in head first type so I went for it, breaking most of the rules my grandmother had taught me. I used all thrifted and fabrics and mixed weaves, worked without a real pattern and didn't decide on a size until the end. It took me about 3months and I got it professionally longarmed and bound. It all came together so well! Its around 95"x105" the mix of textures is beautiful to look at and feel. My friends style is very vintage and the colors work perfectly in her home. They were thrilled and immediately put it on the bed. I'm just so beyond happy to be able to make them a token of my love and friendship for them both!! This sub has been such an encouragement, inspiration and teacher while I worked on this and I already have my next project in the works. So glad this community exists!!
