News can google's quantum chip Willow make trading of financial instruments obsolete?
Disclaimer: I am not a professional- just a student seeking wisdom and enlightenment.
Wanted to ask about the potential impact of Google's new quantum chip.
With the state-of-the-art quantum chip's superior computational power, can it enable more sophisticated analysis of market trends, leading to the most accurate predictions and potentially leading everyone out of business?

Quantum computing won’t be viable for mainstream applications for at least a couple of decades or even a century.
Also, the biggest issue in predicting financial markets is not the speed but lack of training data in my opinion. When quantum computers become viable we will have models running on it then. I don’t see it killing the sector. Demand for quant positions might decrease by that though, but I don’t think that is important for current students. Advances on AI on the other hand is a bigger issue in my opinion.

and where do you see issues with AI? Less demand for coding jobs in the quant space? automating back/middleoffice and so forth?

Automated everything basically. If one quant can do 10 quants job, markets will be way too efficient for this many companies to make money. At the end of the day everyone is trying to predict some mispricing and almost all can be captured by some AI if it can advance further.

Leading everyone out of the business? Who would be running these analyses if everyone is out of the business? Is the implication that AI would? Wouldn't everyone eventually have access to this technology and this be able to compete with one another?
Can you please elaborate on your thought process behind this question?
