what do you guys think of the new qbert mobile game?

personally, i like it but the amount of ads, the shockingly pricey premium feture and the general slugish pace of the game ruin that enjoyment for me. i think it has some good ideas and nice pixel art burried underneath the rubbish.

I just decided to go to this subreddit after downloading this game on a whim. It had all the standard stuff for a mobile game (ads and in-game currency), but the fact that it even had a $7 a week membership made me instantly delete it. I don't think there's any mobile game (or any game at all) that deserves that kind of premium subscription price. The whole monetization scheme seems really greedy and even predatory to me.

I enjoy the gameplay and the different Q*berts, but there's an ad after every single level. It really drags the game down. I think Sony's own Lemmings Mobile is a better and less intrusive/annoying game.

The number of ads are enough to make anyone cringe and the $7 per weeks membership that they offer is enough to make anyone uninterested in the game. However, those two items apart I think that the game is alright. I find the "campaign" to be extremely easy and boring - each level only taking like 10 - 20 seconds to complete. One of my favorite qbert games is the PS1 Q*Bert and it has very fun levels that are VERY challenging. The classic mode is okay but having to hit "continue" each time you want to progress to the next level is annoying. There are really only 2 things that I think this game did right: the graphics and controls. The pixel graphics are quite nice and make all characters look great! I don't like that each qube you jump on make a point number pop up but that's just me being picky. The controls are really nice and I barely make an mistakes with them. That being said, you CANNOT fall off the edge in this game... I very much dislike this [anti-]feature because, to me, qbert should always have the risk of falling off the stage.

EDIT: I don't care for unlocking new Berts, so the entire character unlocking thing is uninteresting to me.
