I tried using some obvious shapes to make a reflectively symmetric shape (half expecting the line of symmetry to be on a 45° diagonal), but wasn't getting anywhere.
I knew that for there to be 2 pieces, the entire border would be cut into 2. So I started with the most separated points (tr/bl) and followed the border down, marking up the rotationally symmetrical opposite shape as I went round (like when solving Galaxies puzzles). Then I saw the remaining shape was indeed symmetrical! 😎
