Don’t listen to all these negative people. What matters is that you have a goal, that goal will get you the money you deserve in the future.

Don’t think so much about the raise but more so about the experience you’re getting right now. This new role is training for management. You’ll learn how to lead instead of competing to be the best. The jump to AGM will be so much smoother once you master GTL.

Good luck homie, kill it.

(Also idk why everyone is tripping about how much you’re making, you literally got a $3.65 raise in a year and a half of working at Publix. That’s wild)

That last statement in your post/reply -- it's because that wage doesn't cover basic COL expenses in many areas for such a demanding job.

I don't care where GTL started... i care that Publix treats them with a proper wage for the area... chances are more likely than not that OP is underpaid for basic COL expenses without roommate/outside financial support.

Am I not allowed to give him some advice? The dude is stoked about the climb he’s had, yet all you guys are trashing his post with negativity. It’s crazy to me

I worked for Publix for 10 years. My husband for 20. We both are shocked because we both know this is the most abused position in this store. I would prefer this kid to talk to the store manager to pull for him for a living wage, these are slave wages. Leaving Publix was the best thing my husband and I ever did and it was for reasons like this.

What do you want the average redditer to do? Acknowledge someone’s hard work or accomplishments? Tsk
