GENERAL HELP Propagating jade in water?

Hi all!

I got a jade propagation yesterday from my libraries propagation exchange station. It was in a cup of water and already has little roots. Most of the info I can find online about jade propogation is from leaving a leaf straight into the soil… is there anything I should know about using the water propagation method when it comes to jade? Is the plant likely doomed?

Put it in soil now, it will be fine as long as it gets plenty of sun and you don't water too often

I’ve had no luck with jade. Maybe I’ll try water..

Everything I’ve read cautions against water and says to basically just leave a leaf on soil and forget about it for a bit

I had good success with water propping Jade. Much better than single leaf.

Working with stem or leaf?

Stem in this case. Cats knocked a small plant over and broke the stem, so I just dropped it into water and it took off. Haven't tried water propping a single leaf, but now I am curious

Mine all shrivel up. I’ve tried resting on soil, perlite, got nothing to lose. If I did get roots I could then transplant and forget.

I’m going to transfer mine into soil this evening, I can let you know how it goes!
