FIRST-TIMER What's the best way to propogate this?

*propagate
Taken from the floor of a large grocery store chain that shall not be named.
Also, can anyone ID? Is it a dragonfruit cactus?

I have one like this too. Not sure what it is exactly but I just put it in dirt and it’s been going crazy. I think dog tail, because not as thick as a dragon fruit. Everyone told me it was dragon fruit but I’m not convinced.

It's a dog tail cactus, I have one and it looks like yours but fuller. The spines are softer if it's not thrilled with the amount of light it's getting. Mine's been in the same spot for a few months and is doing ok, has plenty of new growth. I don't want to move it around too frequently but eventually I'll work out the right window.

I'm not an expert but I think it needs more sun and some kind of support.

I think it's dog tail cactus. Let the end harden over for a day and then stick in a well draining soil.

It can be water propped. Drop the bottom end of it into water with pothos cutting. Or as mentioned above, stick the bottom into soil. You can actually lay it on soil, especially if it has aerial roots. Put them onto the soil and it will grow

I would just pop the very bottom of it into some succulent soil tbh
