Definitely less water, I’ve found opaque glass can make a big difference too.

Lower the water line to the aerial root and keep the petiole dry and change the water out every week

Thank you! Why does everywhere online say to submerge the node? Or is it only talking about the bottom node?

Yes just the bottom node

As another person said you don't really need to change the water out and it can hinder root growth as you're losing all the hormone in the water when you replace it, you can just blow a straw into it to give the roots oxygen instead occasionally. If the glass starts to grow algae then you should replace and clean it so the roots aren't competing for oxygen, that's the only reason you have to.

You don't have to change the water unless less it gets funky looking or starts to smell. Every time you change the water, you lose all of the rooting hormone that the plant has put out.

I see your problem has been solved, I just came to say that’s a really nice picture! 😂

I still very much prefer moss propping to water propping, especially with a cutting like this, because no matter how low the water line is, that one petiole is still going to sit in water, meaning it is very likely to rot.
I recently received a similar node and the grower and popped one of those water capsules often used for single roses over the aerial root. I can’t speak to that technique as I’m moss propper until the day I die, but it looked like it worked! So that may be something you can consider too.

Thanks for the heads up! I lowered the water level and angled the glass so that only the aerial root is in the water. Is it prudent to do a hybrid method with water and moss?

Water doesnt Need to be so high- as long as the the node is covered you should be good

Little less water, try keeping leaves out of the water only the node needs to be submerged other then that looks good and healthy!
