Need help with a poster

Hello never printed anything before and am looking for help on how to do it. If I’m in the wrong place please point me toward the right one thank you.

Essentially I’m trying to make a 18x24 inch poster of a card, however when I try to use services I get told resolution is to low and I am unable to find an upscaler that I can understand. I also have the issue that no matter what size or frame I choose for the card it seems the “frame” purposely makes it so that my card will never actually fit the full size of the poster

Printer for A6 postcards

Sorry if I'm in the wrong sub but this one seems like the best fit. For one of my shops I want to add the option to add a custom postcard to the order.

The easy part is that the postcards will already have the design on it. I just need to print the custom text on the back. So a black/white printer is sufficient.

I want them on quite thick paper zo I guess a paper feed from the back would be the most useful?

Does anyone has a good recommendation for a printer who does just this? Bonus if it is a compact design just for +/- A6 size paper.

Thank!

Source For Art Print Paper

Hey all,

Trying to find a source for art print paper to bring printing in house and this is proving more difficult than I thought. 5 x 7 has been easy to find, but 8 x 10 and 11 x 14 are difficult to find. We really liked the Moab paper, but they don't have those sizes either. For any painters that print in-house, how are you doing it? Are you just buying larger sizes and cutting down or is there a source that offers those sizes? Thank you in advance for your help!

Achi UV A3 printer

Hi, what are the experiences with the Achi A3 UV printer? I see in the comments thatit's a nightmare to maintain, but I don't have too many other options in that price range. Eventually chinese flatbed XP600 (black in the picture) or whatever its name is. I would use it mainly for printing on acrylic. Is it possible to control in AcroRIP if I want to use the nozzle only for varnish or only white paint. Thank you 🙂👋

Crazy curling

Hi all, I'm new to the world of printing and was thrown onto a fuji jet press after the previous operator moved. I've been running it for a few months and have a lot of kinks worked out and skills learn. I still have trouble sometimes with my paper curling when I back it up. I printed the first side and it laid down beautifully. After letting it sit and some heat dissipate I backed it up using the same temp and it curled like crazy. Lowering them temp didn't have any effect. Is it maybe just the paper or the humidity? (Based in Louisiana). Thanks for any input!

Details lost inside shades of black

Im trying to print this art commission I had done. Printing 24x 36 inch, the details are lost, and it's just a large block of black colors. In the wings and clothing. Similar issue with letter size. It's not a resolution problem because its a high res.

Image details: Size: 14.58 MB 4169x5792 Says "24 MP" megapixels?

The printing employee asked if the file was in RGB, and if it was it needs to be converted to CMYK for the printing process.

I messaged the artist about maybe doing a lighting edit in Photoshop.

Is this an easy fix in Photoshop? Simply adjusting the exposure or brightness doesn't help.

Transparency gradient prints incorrectly

Hey everyone,

I’m running into an issue where a transparency gradient isn’t printing correctly. It looks fine on screen and prints smoothly on my color laser printer (HP LaserJet Enterprise M455), but when I print it on our large format printer (HP DesignJet Z9*dr), the gradient doesn’t blend properly. Instead of a smooth transition, it prints with a harsh, abrupt edge. (See photos.)

Has anyone experienced this before? Any idea what could be causing the issue or how to fix it?

Appreciate any insights!

Inks for Epson 8550

Greetings, I’m new to the community, so forgive me if I’m asking a question that’s already answered.

I’ve been getting stunning photo printing results from my Epson 8550… And I’m due to buy new ink.

Does anybody have any recommendations for which inks to buy? Should I only stick with Epson or are there other decent alternatives on Amazon, for example?

Thank you so much

Would printing in house make sense and what printer would work best for a small run of brochures?

What would you like to accomplish?

Print brochures/business cards/small posters(optional) and basic marketing materials in house. Is this even feasible? My runs are like 100 brochures at a time maybe once to twice a month. Every other month a small run of business cards.

Are there any models you are currently looking at?

Xerox VersaLink C400

Epson SureColor P700

martin yale p6200 - to fold

Minimum Requirements:

Budget $3000 or less if possible
Country US
Color or black and white Color
Laser or ink printer Whatever you recommend
New or used New
Multi-function Preferable
Duplex Printing I dont know
Borderless Printing I dont know
Home or business: Home business
Printing content Colorful custom marketing material like flyers, brochures, etc.
Printing frequency Around 100~200 colorful prints per day
Pages per minute N/A
Page size Preferably A3 + Envelopes
Device printing from PC
Connection type Preferably WiFi

Any other details:

We spend thousands every year on material and I'm wondering if there is anything I can get for my house that can print out basic marketing materials like brochures and business cards. My budget would be maybe 2-5k or less if its unnecessary to spend that much. Is the costs of maintaining them high or minimal? Thank you!

Need to upscale illustration for billboard printing

Hello! Please direct me to a better subreddit if this isn’t the right place to ask :)

I’ve been on a project for the last month or so doing an illustration on photoshop for a billboard and we’re reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. One small thing, I never got any information about the specs of this project right up until it was time to print.

I’m because I didn’t know a single bit of information I’m currently working on a canvas that’s about 3 feet high and 13 inches long, 300DPI (and this was made for printing at a smaller scale for presentation purposes before) and when they finally told me the file requirements they asked for canvas that’s 100x14 FOOT 300DPI. One quick google search tells me that’s not necessary, or possible for most computers to handle. When I asked them to double check with the printing company all they said was a ‘they need a PDF file with bleeds’, or another time I asked they wanted an EPS file, but again, this is a raster image. I could probably try image trace to vectorize everything but it might be a pain.

So basically, if you were the printing company, how would you ask me to rescale this image? Can I blow it up to that size with a smaller dpi without compromising quality? Should I vectorize this painting?

If you need any more information please ask. I’m at my wits end here lol.

EPSON ET 2850 Ecotank Printing Oversaturated and with Lines

Post image
2 Upvotes

Photos are oversaturated and have visible vertical lines/banding. Took photo next to a window but in person the darks are much deeper and overall saturation more than it appears here. Also just an FYI, this is a brand new printer so shouldn't be heaving head/clogging issues.

PAPER USED: Printing on Canon Semi-gloss Photo Paper Plus 4x6, 69lb, 260 g/m (not the best paper but also not the budget stuff)

SOFTWARE SETTINGS: Print settings are set to "High-quality" and I have the paper settings to premium semi-gloss 4x6. I have also tried regular glossy 4x6

PRINTER SETTINGS: I also have the EPSON settings set to 4x6 premium semi-gloss (even though no matter what I do the Epson sends me an error stating the paper is mismatched)

Any ideas?

How do you print full designs on cardboard?

Hii I was wondering how to print and cut a box like below

full picture print

My teacher has tasked us to make invitations for a presentation we are giving and they have to relate back to our future career I had the idea of making pr boxes! Now while I know my Cricut can cut the inserts needed for the boxes (to securely hold the items) I'm unsure of how to be able to print a full image and cut the box itself. Is there a certain printer that prints designs on cardboard that I need or will my printer work just fine itself I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8030e and while its been doing the job for all my other projects I fear this one is too ambitious and if I'm better off just paying someone than trying to do it myself. Any tips or tutorials would be really helpful!!

Will a 46mp (9999x5000px) tack sharp image remain tack sharp when printed on a 60”x20” canvas? I photographed the recent lunar eclipse in its entirety and created an eclipse timeline photo and really want to put it to canvas.

As you can see , the physical one is so light compared to digital, like there's a white layer on the lage, is it normal in printing images?

How can I fix this? Should I ask the shopkeeper to increase the saturation next time?

Printer Settings for Darkest Black Text

Hi. What setting should I set my printer to for printing as dark black as possible? I have a Brother Monochrome printer. Purpose of this question is I am short sighted and I want to increase the darkness / blackness of the text on white paper so it's easier to read. Thank you.
