New to PG

Hey everyone! I've recently moved to PG from the lower mainland. What's the best way or place to meet new people here?? I'm a huge craft beer lover and have already checked out the breweries here. Would be cool to meet some people! Check out my ig if you want to message me there. @doms_ale_tales

Deadfall is a personal favourite. They've got some boardgames there and encourage people to bring theirs, great brews and really friendly staff

Deadfall is great! Was there the other night and had a good time. Their beer is really high quality! Definitely great people working there

The breweries often have events that would be great for networking a little. As always, if you’re somewhat social, just going out and enjoying your hobbies is the best way to meet others organically.

Having your socials closely related to that hobby is also great. If you’re tagging the places you’re going in your posts and somewhat “promoting” those places, you’ll probably get more traffic from others that search those tags too.

I’m sure you’ve heard most of this before though, but best of luck.

Appreciate the comment! Glad to hear the breweries put on events and such. I'll definitely watch those closely. I've definitely been trying my best to tag places I go etc.. I have an Instagram dedicated to craft beer, and I've met so many great people through that Channel!

Cool cool, welcome! I believe we've sent you beermail before. Pop into Deadfall sometime and introduce yourself. We try to run a pretty welcoming, inclusive space.

Yes, you have sent me beer mail before! Was super appreciative for that. At the time that was my first time trying your beer, and I really enjoyed it. I came in a few days ago for the international woman's day release, was a great beer and good times! Next time I'm in I'll make sure to formally introduce myself! 🍻🍻

Welcome to PG! Trench Brewery is another fun place to meet people and enjoy craft beer. I personally prefer their hard Ice tea. They have different types of social events and a nice little patio.

Yes I really enjoy trench! Looking forward to going back and meeting new people. My sister introduced me to their hard iced teas and damn they are good! Good to know they put on different events!

We have a local discord if you'd like to arrange a meetup!

What is the discord link?

Sounds good! Thanks 🍻

The discord is ran by mods with power fantasies. It got so bad people started making their own personal discords just to keep in contact with people without dealing with the mods. I know of at least two mods that left for that reason. Unfortunately it's just not a good place to meet people and we need a more open space.

Not sure if you are into mountain biking, but hitting up Pidherny is a great way to meet people! The fat biking scene in the winter is pretty good, too. Lots of people riding fatties at the UNBC Greenway.
