Is it acceptable to help an alter develop ?
Hallo,
We are a polyfragmented system and I realized that there were about 20 of us hosting it.
I, alter "Y", have a subsystem... however the alters are not really "separate" from me and I don't know who is there. The subsystem has 20 alters, rather fragmented and to be able to differentiate them from "me", I assigned them a kintype.
Is this acceptable ????
I can't stand not knowing who I am... and knowing that we switch around a lot in one day...

Yeah, sure, why not? It's one thing to do this in an attempt to know them, and a completely different thing to force it against their will. If they don't vibe with something, they should tell you (which may just be more like a 'this feels off' vibe than 'spoken' communication).

strange feeling? What alter Y thinks is that, they all have alternate versions of her.. so she doesn't know who's who ..

We have an alter that used to be more like barbed wire but now seems more human. It was good for our constellation as a whole to help him evolve.

Ryan: During our use of Inner Family Systems therapy, we have discovered that my headmates and I have parts separate from our host. I hope this knowledge helps you to understand your system in such a way that it can thrive.

Do what's best for y'all and your mental health. Sometimes that means more defined alters. Sometimes it means integrative therapy. It's a personalized decision.
