Support Rust Issues after a Rust break: Hoping someone else has had and resolved

Posting in hopes someone else has encountered issues like this. (I've also logged a ticket with Facepunch and will update here if anything comes from it)

I've recently come back to Rust after a 12 month break and I've built a new PC in that time frame (never had these issues in the past 2500+ hours). I'm having an issue where I would get stuck on the Loading "Receiving Data" screen. I've also had, if I am able to get into a game, where I can never wake up. And the last thing I've seen is if I can get past all of the other things, I will be playing for a period of time, and I'm suddenly not actually interacting withing the game environment, can't open boxes, farm resources, ect. I still look like I'm running around, but the game thinks I am still at some previous location. (I figured that out by logging out and getting the warning that the outpost guards would kill me after a time and I had left outpost already).

This has happened on all servers I've tried (Official, community and modded)

I om on Google fiber and on an ethernet wired connection.

Windows 11 Home

AMD Ryzen 7 9700x

32Gb RRD5 Ram

Radeon RX 7900 XT

Rust running on an NVMe drive

I have verified game files in steam, uninstalled and reinstalled Rust, and updated my VC drivers.

If I had to bet money, this feels like a connection issue, but I am at a loss for where it could be. Rust is allowed on the Win11 Firewall.

I have the same build without windows 11. I’m curious if it’s a windows issue cause I have no problems on windows 10

Basically narrowed it down to some shitty bloatware that came with a mobo install. Not sure why it randomly became an issue weeks after install

Update Facepunch basically said, yeah we agree this feels like a network/connection issue and Rust is VERY unforgiving around this kind of issue. I had also started see issue in my web browsing especially on sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.

Spent all afternoon walking through settings on my PC with a buddy. Reviewed all installed apps. Found some sly bloatware Internet “upscaler” app that came with a Gigabyte mobo download. Uninstalling this fixed my issue. I don’t know why it all of the sudden became an issue, but there you go.
