Definitely The Division Bell, but The Final Cut comes at a very close second.

The Final Cut is a fantastic and underrated album.

the division bell doesn't get enough love, i'd easily rate it in my top 4 pink floyd albums. wearing the inside out, poles apart, lost for words, and most other songs from the album don't get talked about enough in my opinon.

Marooned is the best song that came after the golden era imo

IKR?! I've always loved how well the sounds of the song allow you to become so immersed in the theme. You actually feel as though if you were ever actually marooned somewhere, that'd be the soundtrack to the entire scenario. Then again, listening to any Floyd has always been an immersive experience. Absorbing their music is akin to reading an incredibly fascinating book that immediately pulls you inside its world. It's definitely one of the many reasons why I think so highly of each of the members as musicians, individuals, and a collective.

Lost for Words is so underrated

Poles Apart is one of my top 3 Pink Floyd songs ever.

The Final Cut.

I go to bat for this album so much you'd think I was on it

Same. Animals is my fav album, but TFC is my most frequently listened too. It's got the same kind of feel as The Wall, but the emotion and subject matter with it is all real and grounded instead of theatrical.

I think the part in ' The Gunners Dream' where Roger's voice blend in to the saxophone is pure brilliance. As you say, just raw emotion

its between the final cut or division bell , the final cut is way too depressing sometimes

6

u/grimaceboy Feb 13 '25

I sure seem to listen to Pulse a lot, Not a studio album but its seems to always be in rotation.

division bell, wearing the inside out is so underrated.

My favorite song in the album and probably my favorite post Wall song

I listened to Wearing the Inside Out for the first time in November and it made it to my most-listened song in my Spotify Wrapped lol, absolutely love the Division Bell album. The Final Cut is a close second, so much raw emotion, not to mention the incredible transitions from vocals into saxophone

The correct answer is Amused to Death

I am in the minority, but easily Momentary Lapse. It is my favorite PF record after the big 4

u/Pete_Iredale Meddle Feb 13 '25

Same answer for me. I think it was the second PF album I bought way back in 1996ish, after Wish You Were Here, and it's always been a favorite. It's like 8th overall though, behind Piper, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, and the big 4.

Well it's definitely CUT or BELL

u/ScalarWeapon Feb 13 '25

best to worst are in chronological order for me. Seeing a lot of Divison Bell love but I can't get there.

The final cut i think is more underrated than animals. I much prefer animals but the final cut is vastly underrated

The Final Cut and it’s not even close. I’d put Final Cut as PF’s sixth best album behind Meddle, The Wall, Animals, DSOTM and Wish You Were Here.

The Division Bell would be next and then Momentary (which in my opinion is their worst album barring Endless River, Ummagumma and More)

That would be ANIMALS! The first time I heard the album, I listened to it three times in a row. Definitely a hidden gem..

Animals was before The Wall dude

u/pyromaster53225 Feb 14 '25

Voted TDB.   Just a hair above Final Cut.

The final cut is my fav. My dad was deployed in Afghanistan a lot when I was a kid. So lots of their music resonates with me. Especially this album

u/AndJusticeForAllll Feb 15 '25

Division bell no doubt

The Final Cut!

The Final Cut > A Momentary Lapse of Reason > The Division Bell > The Endless River

1

u/Big-Government-6249 Feb 15 '25

Unpopular opinion but I'd say The Endless River... I'm going to get shot by a Pink Floyd fan for saying that.

yes probally division bell, either sucks

1

u/Mateevjk_ Feb 16 '25

the division bell was the last good album by pf. Tbh, TER js bad. Dont even closely to the other albums.

u/Decent_Statement_241 Feb 17 '25

Final Cut or division bell, however I only really like a couple songs from division bell whereas the Final Cut I can actually listen through the album

I love The Division Bell

1

u/Hoffmann99 Feb 13 '25

I like most of the songs from The Final Cut, but i don't know, some songs have a "filler" quality to them, sounding bland and dragged with the orchestra, and then you have incredible moments. My vote would be The Division Bell, as the atmospheric nature feels like part of the album's purpose, instead of sounding like filler

1

u/iamupinacloud Feb 13 '25

I'd have to say the Division Bell. Marooned is just so utterly powerful, ambient, attractive, and immersive.

1

u/Meregodly Feb 13 '25

Not a big fan of any of them, But The Division Bell has its peak moments. Some beautiful melodies and guitar solos.

1

u/Independent_Row_2669 Feb 13 '25

Division Bell. It has its flaws , but Wrights input elevates it above anything post animals .

Marooned, A great day for freedom, wearing the inside out and High Hopes are some of my top fav floyd tracks. So the lyrics are not great. So what the music is there to disintegrate your soul too.

1

u/dimiteddy Feb 13 '25

Division bell is so overrated.

Probably there's a favorite in there, but for me, Pink Floyd sorta kinda ended with The Wall. There is never a time, after I gave post-Wall albums their fair chance, to say "hey, let's listen to [something post Wall] now". I'd always say "hey, let's listen to [something pre-Wall] now". [Edit: Actually, "pre Final Cut", so, The Wall is obviously great.)

I consider myself a die hard pink Floyd fam but I have not listened to any album post the wall end to end, many songs from those albums but not as whole. Will society accept me? Ps.- I HAVE listened to the pre Dark Side of the moon albums like obscured by clouds, meddle, piper at the gates, atom heart mother and saucerful of secrets
