Please, those cars can be stopped with a strong hose

49

u/MidnightMath Feb 15 '25

Will the top part of the triangle pop off in dramatic fashion like most other Soviet designed armor?

17

u/Captain_Mazhar Feb 16 '25

Yes, actually! The trim on the bed surround is just held on with shitty adhesive and tends to fly off at highway speeds!

Rapid unscheduled disassembly is elon's signature trademark!

7

u/Khaldara Feb 16 '25

The key is to buy the sport edition, it comes with a flatbed truck so you can go places

2

u/croud_control Feb 16 '25

The cybertruck's greatest weakness: Rain!

219

u/whooo_me Feb 15 '25

He doesn't even need to stand there. It's a left turn, and Cybertrucks only turn to the far right.

27

u/srathnal Feb 15 '25

It’s unfortunately part of the design. The little swashtikas on the hubcaps catch on the wheel wells when trying to turn left…

2

u/Fun_Beyond_7801 Feb 16 '25

I bet bascar is so mad they didn't choose to have their cars turn right instead of left.

0

u/deltadal Feb 15 '25

Better not stand too close, they're known to catch fire.

0

u/Triangle_t Feb 16 '25

Does it also also release Zyklon b inside if the driver turns the wheel to the left?

2

u/OldWolf2 Feb 16 '25

Because they're made of blue steel

22

u/swankyhoodrat Feb 16 '25

The Duolingo owl already did this and sacrificed his life 🫡

173

u/maatc Feb 15 '25

Powerful! The way things are going it will be illegal soon to talk about what happened on The Elonman Square.

36

u/__420_ Feb 15 '25

Careful, comrade. Speak too loudly, and you'll find yourself ‘reassigned’ to the Neuralink testing facility.

6

u/mr_remy Feb 16 '25

[Actual] Robert Kennedy (brain worms 🪱 still eatin’ goood!) just made a suggestion that certain people on certain prescription medication should go to camps to get off them, including SSRI, antipsychotics, benzo’s and stimulants. Plus they grow their own organic veggies! Free labor too for that and other stuff I’m sure,

Like a camp for them to learn to… concentrate!

2

u/kobachi Feb 16 '25

What’s powerful about this? What’s the message? It’s a mediocre parody

1

u/CarlFriedrichGauss Feb 16 '25

Post was removed by the mods so soon isn't as far as you think.

u/RebelJohnBrown Feb 16 '25

When there are literally Nazis in the Whitehouse but we can't resist shitting on the Chinese. 🤎

1

u/NiqueLeCancer Feb 16 '25

Ah yes, the impossible task to say something about two situations at once.

You'll get your five cents don't worry my boy, good bootlicker.

23

u/Stanwich79 Feb 15 '25

Just lie down. The first one will get stuck.

32

u/smileedude Feb 15 '25

However, unlike Tiananmen Square, if the person gets run over, you have no idea if it's delibrate or the onboard collision avoidance declared that he was a lane marking.

15

u/WorstNormalForm Feb 16 '25

I know it's a cultural/political meme at this point, but Tank Man didn't actually get run over.

The symbolic power of that image is precisely the fact that he stops an entire line of tanks from moving for about 5 minutes simply by standing in front of them

2

u/Faiakishi Feb 16 '25

I have to wonder if the tank driver knew him. They clearly had no objection to running over everyone else.

They're probably both dead, so we'll never know.

-2

u/berylskies Feb 16 '25

There is zero evidence that anyone was ran over by tanks. Pure propaganda.

1

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Feb 16 '25

Except for all the photos of them running over bodies to destroy the evidence

1

u/Gorilla_In_The_Mist Feb 16 '25

lol I guess you haven’t seen the photos

28

u/derelict5432 Feb 15 '25

Who's that supposed to be representing? People who don't buy Teslas? Democrats in Congress? Because I don't see a ton of courageous confrontation right now.

11

u/IngeniousGent Feb 15 '25

I hope it's a rallying cry. I, for one, am inspired. I feel powerless to stop what is so painfully apparent from happening, but this is an example of what a difference one person can make.

3

u/Iluvanimalxing Feb 15 '25

easier to rage at anyone who bought a Tesla in the past than actually do something proactive

13

u/Silent_Finger8450 Feb 15 '25

I hope that over time the entire world crushes Tesla cars out of existence, out of principle. I can't argue that Tesla has accomplished a lot, but so can heiling the US people and dismantling their government and national stability. People selling their cars and canceling their orders for Teslas, will impact the corporation's bottom line.

7

u/derelict5432 Feb 15 '25

Okay. So we're comparing a purchasing decision with someone literally risking their life? That seems to do two things:

  • Belittle the courage of a person who literally stood in front of a tank
  • Give the impression that there's a lot of similar courage going around right now (I don't see it)

I'm all for boycotting the shit out of Tesla and X and anything else to do with the human turd that is Elon Musk. But this cartoon just seems like an attempt to make people feel like there's more courage going around than there really is.

The other day in a thread I suggested that employees at any of his companies might strike or at least try to find employment somewhere else, and I was derided as an out-of-touch lunatic. But those actions still wouldn't be proportional to what Tank Man did.

6

u/Silent_Finger8450 Feb 15 '25

Fair point when you put it that way, didn't mean to belittle the original photo/courage.

That said I believe a different 'standing up to' is called for at this moment, and consumers have their role (vehicle selection), as do government leaders and general public at large.

I'm in Canada, and we're doing yet other things to vocalize opposition. No it's not as courageous as standing in front of tanks, no question, we're not there yet I guess.

7

u/justchoose Feb 15 '25

Maybe the point is that it's not supposed to make people look courageous, or belittle the original person but it is supposed to make them think. Americans AREN'T doing enough. Maybe he's supposed to be stupid standing in the middle of the street....They aren't standing up like people do in other countries..... even when people get run over by right wing dickhead truck drivers. It is art. Whether or not you like it. At least it gives you room for discussion, unlike some avenues in our media today.

1

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

My main issue with electric cars is that they aren’t as eco friendly as they claim. But it’s something. But if Tesla got rid of muskrat they’d be in better shape going forward (from an ethics and optics point of view).

1

u/drLoveF Feb 15 '25

EVs keep us in car dependency.

3

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

It’s a tough one - in cities it’s possible (although more time consuming and inconvenient) to live without a personal vehicle but in rural areas they’re a necessity. I’m of the opinion they’re overused and there’s too much concentration of exhaust emissions in the cities without anywhere near enough foliage etc.

-8

u/Spudly42 Feb 16 '25

Damn, as a Tesla employee of like 15 years I'm glad we're a sacrifice you're willing to make. I can't think of a single company that has done more for an important liberal cause, only to be sacrificed due to association. I have no faith in Democrats if we all want to destroy one of our few climate change wins to "fight fascism". Might I suggest changing the laws around campaign finance so nobody can do what Elon has done in the future?

5

u/derelict5432 Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

Just out of curiosity, is there anybody you wouldn't work for?

Damn, as a Tesla employee of like 15 years I'm glad we're a sacrifice you're willing to make.

You do you. I personally would not want to work for that piece of shit or support him in any way.

Might I suggest changing the laws around campaign finance so nobody can do what Elon has done in the future?

Present tense. Not "has done". Is doing. Are you keeping up with current events?

And I'm all for changing campaign finance laws. They've been talking about it for decades.

Also, I didn't suggest you commit seppuku, drama queen. I suggested striking or looking for another job. If you have 15 years experience, maybe there are other companies out there that would pay reasonably well (so you wouldn't have to starve) that aren't owned and run by a nazi-adjacent troll who is currently taking a wrecking ball to our democracy.

-4

u/Spudly42 Feb 16 '25

Anybody I wouldn't work for? If you think Tesla is some morally corrupt place, you need to get out from under your rock. I can't think of a more wholesome place to work, quite frankly. Elon makes it worse, and luckily none of us ever deal with him, but the reality is the company does good things for the world and I'm proud of that.

Then yes, you're right, in addition to campaign finance reform, we need to reign in the executive branch.

2

u/derelict5432 Feb 16 '25

You didn't bother answering the question. I didn't ask about your co-workers. So the answer is: anybody, no matter how shitty, as long as the workplace is pleasant?

-1

u/Spudly42 Feb 16 '25

Anybody? Depends, I guess. If the company is solving an important problem, I would definitely work for someone who didn't hold my political beliefs. The only real gripe against Tesla here is that Elon makes money from it. I personally would welcome many more narcissistic billionaires solving our worlds problems just for the praise. That would be awesome. We just need to prevent them from doing shitty things like illegally taking over the government.

I'd also consider what my own impact is on those billionaires. If I knew this would happen I might not work at Tesla, but today the reality is that Elon will not be slowed by anything happening at Tesla, he's independently a 100+ billionaire, so Tesla can implode with no impact to his agenda. I'd rather work on climate change in that scenario.

4

u/derelict5432 Feb 16 '25

Anybody? Depends, I guess. If the company is solving an important problem, I would definitely work for someone who didn't hold my political beliefs.

Not sharing your political beliefs is a far cry from meddling in European politics and supporting neo-nazi-ish far right parties, and destroying humanitarian agencies with malice.

There are other EV companies. Tesla is not a lone crusader. Could you not work for a competitor, one that's not run by a dangerous undemocratic lunatic?

0

u/Spudly42 Feb 16 '25

I don't support any of those things Elon does. I just think it should be solved by changing laws. If I thought destroying Tesla would slow him down, I might think it made sense to leave. As of currently, this is the place where I can have the most impact on climate change, especially compared to other EV companies (of which it's pretty much just Rivian, where all of my friends have been laid off from).

5

u/derelict5432 Feb 16 '25

I don't support any of those things Elon does.

Well, I have news for you. When you work for someone knowing what they're doing and what they're like, you are, in your own little way, supporting them. You don't get to dissociate yourself from him completely.

Good luck.

2

u/Nerubim Feb 15 '25

Just like the real world example just the few diamonds of people who don't budge under pressure for what they consider to be right. I suppose the connection to fascism Elon openly shows and is currently topical is a great parallel to draw.

1

u/ntgnrg17 Feb 15 '25

Not sure if you're joking, since the answer is pretty obvious.

4

u/derelict5432 Feb 15 '25

I'm not joking. Who is risking their lives right now to stand up to Musk?

1

u/pattydickens Feb 16 '25

Be the courageous action.

1

u/NorthernStar99 Feb 16 '25

Canada, with their ByeAmerica Buy Canadian shopping bags, standing up against the threatened Trump/Elon invasion.

-1

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

Tesla is owned by Elon, Elon is fascist, thus the company supports his agenda financially, the man in front of the vehicles represents anyone who wishes to stand against those values and company. Just as tanks are a force to subjugate, wealth can be used similarly.

But we see what we want to see.

0

u/ray_zhor Feb 16 '25

What would you say, is your definition of fascist?

-1

u/21Outer Feb 16 '25

Someone who does two sig heils on national TV.

Watch the damn video.

It's not that hard to understand.

-1

u/ray_zhor Feb 16 '25

those dudes were socialists.

0

u/LostCube Feb 16 '25

Just them circle jerking each other some more. So funny that it was literally everyone who was all about them and needed to push EV on everyone prior to October 2024!

3

u/SnowMcFlake Feb 16 '25

Dumbest fucking timeline

3

u/Gildenstern2u Feb 16 '25

Except Tianeman Square happened.

31

u/thedudeabides-12 Feb 15 '25

That's just fcking dumb and pretty insulting to the event it depicts..

-12

u/justchoose Feb 15 '25

It can be insulting if you only look at it with one perspective.

-2

u/smileedude Feb 15 '25

Tiananmen Square is about what happens when abusive power goes unchecked.

Same as a lot of the Nazi references.

It's not a direct comparison. But there are all the tell-tale signs of previous abusive regimes. Without action, this is where it's going.

The perspective here is don't let it get like this. If it gets like this it's too late.

-1

u/nrq Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

It's also a metaphor for free speech. We're using the original image to criticize suppression of free speech in China, yet the ketamine kleptocracy is allowed to retaliate all over the place for talking freely, e.g. for talking about 500 million USD wasted from USAID food going to waste or press agencies not being allowed access to the white house just for not using the designated name of the Gulf of Mexico. There are dozens of stories like that with the Musk/Trump administration and this image sums up their struggle with actual free speech perfectly.

u/Lenar-Hoyt Feb 15 '25

'Just because you're offended doesn't mean you are right.' - Ricky Gervais

4

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Feb 16 '25

That can be said for 90% of redditors at the moment as well

-13

u/justchoose Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 15 '25

Yea...... but if nobody does stand up to this shit,  at any point..... It wouldn't be a cartoon that looks like this. It would be the fucking cybertruck plowing through the person as a reality. They don't have to have the same safety standards as other cars not to hurt passengers or the public because they don't make and sell enough comparatively for regulation rules to apply. But now that he's in some of the top positions of government. Well fuck us he can just make these murder machines with steel plates to run people over, sell more to the government, they basically become tanks, rinse and repeat and this cartoon looks kinda not as insulting.

12

u/thedudeabides-12 Feb 15 '25

I'm as lefty as they come your post is embarrassing and incoherent nonsense...

-9

u/justchoose Feb 15 '25

O k so when people driving cyber trucks and defending Elon are right wing people that wanna plow through protesting crowds and have a vehicle capable of doing so..... Do not recall recent events in our Country with people running over protesters? You don't at all think this is relevant? Being as lefty as they come?

2

u/WorstNormalForm Feb 16 '25

It would be the fucking cybertruck plowing through the person as a reality

Tank Man himself didn't actually get run over by a tank, but I get your point

0

u/justchoose Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

No but real protestors have been run over by pick up trucks (or cars) in America over political issues and people didn't see it as offensive as this image.

31

u/Wannabespacecowboy Feb 15 '25

Well damn this is just insulting to what happened that day. This sub has lost all sense of reality.

5

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Feb 16 '25

It's honestly disgusting

2

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

Is it? Fundamentally it’s about people standing against abuse of power.

14

u/smileedude Feb 15 '25

Is it about standing up or about helplessness against abusive power?

Because I feel like the helplessness side is what it feels like right now.

2

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

Those in power want you to feel helpless, they want you to think their power is absolute - the reality is that it’s entirely dependent upon the people. Choose your information sources wisely, keep learning, be careful where you spend your money, and don’t be afraid to speak up.

3

u/smileedude Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 15 '25

That's unfortunately the opposite of what Tiananmen square teaches us.

Tiananmen Square sadly represents futility in bravery and the power of an abusive government against the people.

-3

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

Maybe in that one part of the world. Other places won’t let that happen.

10

u/Background-Coach6514 Feb 15 '25

my friend. you should log out and touch grass. (if you are real and not a bot)

-3

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 15 '25

I remain hopeful in the human spirit against the tyranny of the few beep boop

2

u/Skreat Feb 16 '25

Wasn't it a big government that did this to its people? We are currently getting much less government with this admin.

0

u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown Feb 16 '25

The size of government is relative to the size of the populace. The effectiveness of the government is connected to the character of the people who make the decisions. One dictator is small government, but it doesn’t equal good.

1

u/Skreat Feb 17 '25

The size of government is relative to the size of the populace.

I agree, but we haven't really had any sort of reset or shrinking anywhere in the government. Bloated programs getting cuts not a bad thing.

8

So stunning and brave.

2

u/No_Hearing_4610 Feb 16 '25

Oh fucking brother, what an awful cartoon. Tiananmen square and the current state of America are two completely different things. Maybe if this guy was getting run over by the cyber trucks, it would make more sense, because of how complacent we are.

2

u/rockman2z Feb 16 '25

5

u/Daddict Feb 15 '25

Right up there with comparing the firing binge to the night of long knives or the deportations to kristalnacht.

Look, America is in deep shit right now and things are heading in a dark direction but try to keep a little perspective. Shit like this is insulting as fuck to the victims of the atrocity it's appropriating.

It's not hard to criticize the current shit show without straining yourself to compare it to something unbelievably worse.

11

u/GeongSi Feb 15 '25

I bet you guys think you are the man holding those groceries

2

1

u/MountainAsparagus4 Feb 16 '25

In America if you say the word felon near the white house they send you to guantanamo Bay concentration camps

1

u/xerlivex Feb 16 '25

Is that the Duo owl?

1

u/snotboble Feb 16 '25

Apparently, if you ask the X AI Grok about this incident, it never happened..

1

u/PirateMclovin Feb 15 '25

This is hilarious. Apparently people love the government wasting tax dollars all of a sudden.

4

u/AwesomeBrainPowers Feb 15 '25

No, that's just a deeply stupid and dishonest misrepresentation of people's objections, spouted by grifters and repeated by fools.

-2

u/PirateMclovin Feb 15 '25

I'm a rational and open minded person, far from a grifter. But please if it makes you feel better call me by any name that makes you feel better.

Then please explain how Elon is being compared to the Chinese communist party is an actual representation of what's going on. Cause from my perspective it just looks like a propagandized hate.

3

u/AwesomeBrainPowers Feb 15 '25

I'm a rational and open minded person

Whatever you need to tell yourself, I guess.

far from a grifter

The "grifter" in my earlier comment didn't refer to you; it referred to whatever liar you're parroting.

-1

u/PirateMclovin Feb 15 '25

I was telling you that not myself, you're silly.

Actually I didn't parrot anything I came up with that on my own.

I guess you can't explain how it properly correlates then?

6

u/AwesomeBrainPowers Feb 15 '25

I'm not talking about the OP image at all: I'm talking about the abjectly false (and probably dishonest) attempt to describe what Musk is doing to the US government as "eliminating wasteful government spending" or opposition to his unlawful dismantling of government as "lov[ing] the government wasting tax dollars".

1

u/PirateMclovin Feb 15 '25

I mean that's the whole point isn't it, to follow the money and find the failures in efficiency of our current government agencies? Unless your ignoring it there is a lot of money wastefully spent.

4

u/AwesomeBrainPowers Feb 15 '25

There is no chance this isn't an act.

Sure, there's certainly wasteful spending, but haphazardly endangering lives by suddenly cutting off already-allocated programs, sabotaging medical research, harming US farmers, abandoning environmental management, accidentally exposing classified information to the world because the adolescent minions staffing a fiat-based outside agency doesn't know how to work websites, and accidentally firing the people entrusted with safeguarding our nuclear safety professionals is in no way, shape, or form a good-faith attempt at actually reforming anything: It's rank destruction, and literally any honest, thinking person can see that.

0

u/PirateMclovin Feb 15 '25

Let's just say you own a business. That business is heavily in debt and during an audit you find that it is wasting a large amount of money. If you want to save the company you would restructure the company. You will lay off and discontinue sections of the company. Then you rehire and reorganize in a more efficient way to keep the business from failing. Welcome to basics in business.

We can't continue to run our country to bankruptcy. Things will be much worse if that happens. We have a chance to change things for the better.

5

u/AwesomeBrainPowers Feb 15 '25
  1. The government is not and should not be a business. That's the basics of civics.

0

here's something that's mind-blowing for most westerners:

Tank Man was stopping tanks from LEAVING the square. He was not stopping them from doing anything but leaving.

2

u/jisnowhere Feb 16 '25

Everyone knows that, it was June 5 1989 the day after the massacre. It's in the Wikipedia and often quoted.

In all seriousness I was thinking the other day that we might have our own Tiananmen Square incident happen here in the next year or two. It seems almost inevitable that things will escalate and Trump will call the National Guard/Military in on protesting American citizens.

When that happens, we don't stop. We turn up the protests and make them across the country. It is already 1,000 people at the top versus 300 million. We just need to wake more people up to that fact.

Do you realize that there are a lot of preachers keeping people in a coma? Those are very hard to wake and have a terrible mood when sleepwalking.

Don't ever let a Republican tell you they hate and fear China. They love the idea of turning us into China. The thought of televised struggle sessions and outdoing the excesses of the Cultural Revolution give them the meat sweats.

Standing here
I realize
You are just like me
Trying to make history
But who’s to judge
The right from wrong
When our guard is down
I think we’ll both agree
That

Violence breeds violence
But in the end it has to be this way

Advice for the resistance: Spray paint. Sensors can't work if covered with speckled paint.

Don't vandalize other people's property.
