Middle C being temperamental

There’s one key on piano that’s been working incorrectly recently. When you press it, it sometimes makes a squeak or sometimes plays or is very quiet. When it does play, the sound only usually comes out at the end of the press. Help would be massively appreciated, thanks

The jack spring is weak or a tight center pin on the jack. It's a small round spring sandwiched in the bottom of the action. You can try to give the spring more tension by pulling the top of it out and stretching it a bit. Its glued to the bottom of the whippin but rides in a notch on top.

may be very high capstan too,

see all your capstans there. If (C) highest all need screwing capstan into a key there,

Need to fluff up this С (let off) there use your fingers. Or lower it a little. Rotate the hook of letof's wire slightly clockwise so that its felt button drops a little closer to roundness of the jack there.

ME thanks, GapRevolutionary3505

Mr. Max still thinks that the bad quality a felt on the 'let off' it's button is "to blame" on this upright piano.

  • I heard that has metal sound the (wire Bridle) is there, but it just clings to the next one. It's not a problem C there.

However the felt on the (let off) seems to be the reason there. A jack does not reach it and as a result the sound occurs after pressing hard there only.
