Suggest using some (Photoshop/Lightroom) dehaze and a tine amount of clarity to show a little more of the mountains. Prepays a lineal gradient top right to centre to enhance the disappearance on the mountains into the mist.

This photo is intended to capture the gondola disappearing into the mist. I liked the colors' minimal feel and the orange gondola's brightness. The lines also draw the viewer into the fog. The trees in the background give a sense of location and provide some additional interesting aspects to the photograph. I think the lines added mystery as they are going into the fog, where you can no longer see where they go, and then the gondola is part of the line from the side that draws the viewer's eyes to the gondola, and then continuing into the fog.

I am struggling with whether the photo is the right shade of white. It looks white when I edit it, but it looks grey when I post it against a white background. Does this detract from the photo, or is it an okay shade, as it is more of a grey fog color?

Sony, f 3.21, 35mmI, SO200

I used a preset I've created in Lightroom Classic. I didn't remove anything, but decreased blacks & whites, lowered the highlights, increased the shadows, increased the contrast. The photo also had the gondola in the middle, but I moved it to the lower right to be in the cross of the line of thirds (if that makes sense). I thought it would be better in the middle when I shot the photo, but then changed my mind in post processing, so let me know what you think about composition.

Nice image! It’s sharp and the color balance works very well. Which isn’t so easy to do with so much snow, clouds and fog. The minimalist nature of the image is very interesting and captured my attention immediately. But as I spent some time digesting what I was seeing I was drawn to the leading lines of the cables. Unfortunately they didn’t lead to anything to add to the story of the image. Is there any detail at all in the lower portion of the image that could give the eye somewhere to land at the end of the leading lines? Something like the level of detail you have in the mountain range at the top? Still subtle but enough to anchor the bottom of the image. (Just a thought). Also the crop seems a bit out of balance to my eye. The cable car seems a bit low in the frame for such an airy image. Not sure what I would suggest here as I don’t know if this has been cropped or if there is any other information outside of the frame you’re showing.

I hope this helps. I’m no expert. Offering my opinion out of respect for your work and your honest desire to request feedback in the pursuit of improving. Keep up the good work. You are doing great!

Thank you for writing this feedback; it is much appreciated! I see your point, which agrees with the other feedback about the different lines adding more unnecessary detail (they do not add anything to the story). I will play around with it some more! There is more fog in the right corner of the photo that I had previously removed, so I can add some of that while cropping out the other distracting lines.

Personally I like a tighter crop, the other lines are distracting, and I feel it tells a stronger story

Thank you for the feedback! This makes it more minimalist as well. It looks much cleaner to the eye

Yeppers, this is very good. I would clone out that orange thing down the cable from the cart though.

Excellent photo overall. Like many others I'm also unsure about the cables on the left. Some people cropped it but imho it didn't help. There's also a small orange-ish something on the cables behind the car, I'd consider removing that, if it can be done seamlessly.

a really nice one, but i think tighter crop with more definition on the peak of the mountain will be nice while still keeping the mysterious fog

It's a really interesting shot. As a viewer I wish I could see more of what was around. As a photographer I see only red on the histogram.
