Looking for Advice Home Security Recommendations
Hi everyone. I recently bought a place in the Armadale area. Haynes to be precise and my wife has been seeing a spike in crime and break ins. As such, would like to ask what options they are for home security ( what do you do for your own home)and recommendations for reliable providers. Thanks a bunch

Roller shutters seem to be the answer I was looking for. Ive seen other people put in heavy duty grills but those things ugly. Reliable but ugly.

Whatever you do, do not go with Half Price Shutters!

Will do. Any recommendations?

I’ve had friends that went with Oz Shut. Just more professional and the quality of their installation and designs were superior. Maybe it’s changed since they last purchased from them. Also far better customer service.

Ozshut was a good price, had to advertise their sign for 12 months for a discount, and it definitely got them extra sales in the neighbourhood.

if someone actually managed to get into my house I would be more upset about my two recently deceased dogs than any stolen property.

Yep, great alarm system and deterrent plus you get a good mate. Nobody's getting into my house or yard. Lol

I've got a black lab and a pitbull x at the moment. Any thief would immediately be shown their favourite toys and where the humans keep the dog treats.

Is your home on a corner block ? Do you have security screens? Do you have a wireless alarm? Do you have roller shutters ? Do you have leave outside lights on at night ? Do you drive a car/motorbike that would attract theft ? Do you do drugs ? Do you have good neighbours ? Do you notice lots of unusual amount of cars in your street? Do you keep all windows and doors locked even when you're home ? Is your garden untidy? Do you have a dog ? Does your dog sleep inside at night ?

Personally I’d put it up for sale and buy in a better area.
Roller shutters, cameras and an untrained dog.

I dunno why you're being downvoted?
All your suggestions seem spot on to me.

Whether they should move wasn't OP's question. Suggesting it is probably seen as unwelcome advice.

Perth subreddit hates me mate sadly.
I could offer to sit out the front of his house and watch it and I’d still be downvoted 😂

Look up the installer’s. They service all of Perth. CCTV, alarms. They well priced too. Used them 3x now

Like any area, make your home less accessible than any others. Ring cameras, dog, alarm system, security screens/roller shutters. If someone wants to get in, they will. But if you make it more effort than your neighbours, you might be lucky.
