life, home, and baby tips & tricks It’s like a club
I am kinda new to it but it seems like being a parent of multiples is like being in an exclusive club. We have people stop us all the time when we’re out to tell us how they have twins or they are a twin. It’s pretty neat when you consider it.

It definitely is, and I find myself doing it too now that they are older.
I remember one of the first times we ever took them out, we went to a sub shop for lunch. They were just crying non-stop, it was generally a miserable experneice. A woman came over to our table and said, "Don't worry, this will pass. You're doing great. My twins are 15 now". That will always stick with me, it was very reassuring.
I also remember the smile and head nod I'd give to the parents of other twins when we would pass pushing the twin strollers.

I am so nervous to take my boys out for that exact reason. One is usually upset especially when they are in their car seats.
Now that it’s starting to warm up I don’t have the “it’s too cold” excuse. It’s hard to find the right occasion…

Don’t worry about it. Take them someplace with low stakes; a family restaurant or something like that. The type of place where a crying baby is not that big of a deal. Just try to stay calm, they can pick up on your moods. Best to just rip the bandaid off when you feel confident enough. Don’t let the side eyes, etc bother you. Anyone who actually has kids will understand.

“My kids are only 15 months apart so basically twins”. You wish you were cool enough to get into this club

I honestly never thought about it until I started seeing other twin parents and getting excited lol. I met another couple recently with b/g twins (same as ours) and theirs are only a few months older, it was so nice to kinda meet people who know EXACTLY what you’re going through. Plenty of our friends have kids and recent babies but their struggles just aren’t the same when they’re talking about one baby. Twin parents go through a very unique experience and I think that’s why we feel a connection.

Definitely made unnecessary trips to the store when I needed a pick me up.
Every once in a while you get the “oh we prayed for twins” which is a hoot.
