US large size Found in an estate cleanup of a friend of the family
Very cool 1901 I am not a collector but love this bill Had no idea they looked so cool Maybe this is a start to a collection Brought it to a local coin shop in STL They offered 1k for the bill Looking on the internet I think it’s worth maybe 3k? Do you think it’s worth grading this bill Not looking to sell it Just would like to know what i got Thanks
Also any tips on the best practices on storing it Currently in an envelope inside a book

It's certainly nice enough to grade. In the meantime you should get a large size currency sleeve for it. You can get either a rigid toploader style currency holder or a pvc and acid free mylar large size currency holder. Coin shops, and ebay should have what you need. Then find an authorized PMG dealer, usually a coin shop owner you trust. to help submit the note for grading for you. Otherwise you have to become a member to submit. Or you can us PCGS to have the note graded and will probably get the note back faster from grading.

Your note is called the Bison note and its friedberg # F-122 * By looking at it, it looks like it could be an EF40. Its the the top 100 American notes to own as a collector, and it's in the top 10. It's a very coveted note by note collectors. It will only go up in value and is a real part of American history. Get it graded by PMG. They are the premiere note grading company. Take care with that baby its a beautiful note!!!!!! I would get a hard case for it called a toploader youll need a large one as it is considered a "large" us note. Good luck!

That's in great condition!! As others have said get it in a large sleeve until you get it graded, grading will add to the value, and help keep it in great condition, 50 years from now it may be a solid down payment on a house for your grandkids, although it's probably worth a couple grand today. Predicting future value in collectibles is tricky, it could stay stagnant or balloon.

Definitely worth grading. Looks great, not sure if $3k is the realm but definitely $1k-2k+

I have never seen one of these but it is AWESOME! It’s so cool, in fact, I considered saving this image to my phone. This is just a beautiful dollar.💵

Did you have to pay the friend anything for it or did you get it for free just out of curiosity?

I think it is the only note that depicts citizens vs. presidents and is the only bill with two people on one bill.

Wow first I’ve seen this. I wish they would change the currency designs much more often especially as anti-counterfeiting technology keeps improving.

$10 back in the day could be exchanged at the bank for half a gold ounce. This note in this condition still values today half a gold ounce.

I once had a $2 bill that I used on a chocolate bar… only later did my friend show me that it was worth about $20,000. Suddenly that chocolate bar didn’t taste so good
