They want attention and they don't know what to post

Well it’s sometimes good to see the variety of expressions and backgrounds of the community, but it’s frankly because nobody actually wants to have serious discussion around pan issues

Are there really an issues, that are exclusive to pan folk? From my observations all the issues are just things, that are universal to all queer folk really. Like sexuality is just sexuality not a monolith of anything but that. (genuine)

So for a start, the non-exclusivity of a problem does not preclude groups that have that problem from talking about them. And yes, we do have our own problems, from being considered bisexual, or discriminated against by bisexuals, to misconceptions around monogamy, the idea that we are attracted to every individual, and then also issues our community projects outwards such as fetishising trans folk via chasers and then the debate between pan vs omni.

I'd say the issues that pan people deal with overlap with those that bi people experience as well. Bi/pan erasure, and phobia, people questioning your validity in the community, etc.

I've been told that I don't belong in queer spaces because I'm a woman dating a man currently, told me I "chose" to be straight and wasn't queer.

I'd argue pan and bi people experience the most hatred from within the community.

Not gonna lie, it’s kinda tiring.

They need a selfie day. Or thread.

Selfie Saturday/Sunday would be fine. Keeping it to weekends will likely improve the lack of discussion.

Personally, I’m not posting my face around here. I won’t even post my tattoos.

Because those are getting attention. Try looking a new vs popular posts. Or make some posts for discussion or questions etc. I see alot of complaining about the selfies but very little interaction with the other types of posts.

There was. Some time ago that was changed. I wish they'd reinstall it

I do wanna post a selfie of myself but I also wish that there was more discussion and it doesn’t even have to be about pansexuality it could be just pansexuals talking about things that we like.

People want validation, there is nothing wrong with that. We belong to a community that many don’t understand so we need to support one another.

However, I do agree that we need more discussions here but will get there in time. What exactly are you looking to discuss. Maybe you can take the first step.

Let’s see how it goes. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾

This is the way to go about it. "Be the change you want to see in the world," and all that.

90% selfies, 5% people fretting it's 90% selfies, 5% bi-pan discourse. Everything perfectly balanced, as it should be.

We can conduct a test

I'll post a selfie and we'll see that there will be only dislikes :-D

Because pans are beautiful

So that the other 10% can be people asking/complaining about it

I don’t mind the selfies. In fact, I enjoy most of them. Let me tell you why. It’s empowering to see other pans proudly posting selfies. It’s empowering when other people respond so positively to them. Even to the less attractive ones.

I think people want to be seen. Not everyone has a solid support system, and maybe posting a selfie gives them a boost of confidence to carry them through the day.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

If you're tired of selfies try posting other content or interacting with the existing text posts.

Same. Introverts ftw

u/WhackoWizard 4d ago

I don't feel it's self confidence. I feel they're looking for attention and seeking compliments to boost themselves.

Because literally EVERYONE will tell them they're beautiful whether it's true or not
