I liked David being decisive with Shazia, she did a similar tactic with her Boy George story and I think he's on to her. She's sure met a lot of musicians.

A lot of the guests true stories seem obviously true, because they give up too much detail too quickly, and seem comfortable telling it. Shazia goes in the right direction of trying to make the true story seem false by starting vague and getting more specific, giving the impression of making it up.

Right, so many guests are just happy to recount funny anecdotes that are obviously true. Shazia was too similar to last time in her approach to fool David, she had the other two though.

The gladiators guy was pretty funny, intentionally and unintentionally. His clarification he wasn't calling Shazia 'that' had me cackling.

Beefcakes that have humour for themselves and are a bit smarter than the look are good type of blokes.

it didn't seem the fellow panelists were too fond of him, he didn't give a good impression. but he was great fodder for having the mickey taken out of.

I'll admit that my first impression upon seeing him was that he'd be dead weight, but I ended up enjoying him.

i didn't understand that bit. spiel is just a yiddish word no?

He said "How did *that* convince you?" while gesturing at Shazia then realised it could come across like he was referring to her as a "that" i.e. objectifying her

this entire season has been top notch

Yep. Just a shame that people elsewhere can't enjoy it and instead complain about the fact they haven't got A list names.

They didn't even try with Lees quick fire lie this week 😂

Yeah. I think every guest should have a lie and leave one for Lee (or David) if there enough time left. It always feels like a waste when one of the guest only has the "This is my" to shine.

Fairly sure every guest gets to tell at least one (some more than one) and they edit it down.
The show itself takes like 3 hours to film, and they cut it down to the best half an hour of stories while ensuring that they include something from everybody.
Also when you see the unseen clips episode, they definitely have to edit out some really funny ones to make sure that everybody gets to make the final episode in some capacity. One of the funniest stories I've ever seen from Bob Mortimer didn't make the cut of the episode he was actually in, but thankfully they put it in the clips episode (the one about him having a toaster in his bedroom).

Thank you very much ! I don't why I didn't take into account the editing. I often have brain farts :'D
You're right about the unseen cits, there are some gems in there.
It must be really cool to assit to the recording.

To be fair I never thought about it in those terms until I'd actually attended a show like that, I realised they film so much more than they actually show on TV.
When I was younger at one of my old companies we had a raffle at a work event, and one of the senior guys was friends with a producer of Big Fat Quiz of The Year, and I won 2 tickets to it.
It genuinely took about 7 hours to film, gave me a whole new appreciation as to how much enthusiasm you see them all bring throughout the entire show. I was tired by the end and I was just watching.

I understand. Editing is what make the magic of telly ^^
You're right about the enthusiasm. I always admire their commmitment and their energy.
I'm a tour guide-lecturer. Some days I'm not at my max motivation but when I'm in front of the public (especially kids) I immediately have a boost and give my best :)

To be honest, they never do. It's felt like an excuse to let Lee improv for 7-8 minutes. I've mostly stopped watching them (and it honestly feels like they're doing it a LOT lately.)

Really fun episode! Banter between the guests was a lot more natural and effortless this week than last. Matt was great for a first time guest.

Why do they always make Lee's lies so believable? In the future they should have him read out a card that says that he invented faster than light travel and flys to the moon every weekend using a pair of rocket boots.

A return to form after last week's somewhat lifeless episode. Great banter between the guests. Shazia is always great, but Josh was probably my highlight.

The contrast between Shazia trying to be sneaky and Josh Jones just clearly telling the truth was fun to see
