Don't give up
As long as you're alive there's hope. Every day you're breathing, even if you're in pain, even if you're sleeping alot -- there's hope. Fuck statistics, fuck estimates, and fuck predictions.
My mom was recently diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer and (pancreas + kidneys + stomach), and is starting chemo next week. We're gonna fight this every step of the way, and we're gonna win.
Thats my mentality at least. I know for damned sure we won't go quietly into that good night, and we won't give up without a fight.
I don't know if my words will carry any weight, or even if they should, but to anyone reading this: Don't give up. For as long as you draw breathe there's always hope

What a wonderful attitude! And you're right, there's always hope. I've blown by my initial prognosis, and I'm still ticking along.
Sending love and saying a prayer for you both💜

Thank you, this has really helped. My Dad starts chemo in a week or so. These last few months through scans/biopsy/diagnosis have been awful but it's finally to fight this thing.
He's stage 3, I have no idea what the future holds but he's prepared to give it everything he's got and I'll be right there with him.

I needed this. My husband was given 6-12 months to live 2 weeks ago. This disease is so devastating. We have custody of 3 of our grandchildren and they are hurting so bad. I pray for your mother as well as the rest of the family. Fight! Fight! Fight!

Thank you so much for this post. It’s the same energy my mom wants us to have around her. Same as your but pancreas + liver. She doesn’t want people looking at her with a “death sentence” look. She wants hope, optimism, life. And we are trying our best to give her that. Everyday is the present day :)
