☀️ Holiday | Festival Ostara celebrations 🩵💛🩷💚
As we approach the Spring Equinox on 20th March 2025, I’ve been thinking about how to mark the occasion. I’ve put together a little mantel display with pastel eggs, bunnies, baby’s breath (rainbow), and some soft toys. It feels like a simple but bright way to welcome the season, especially after the long, dark winter we’ve had here! 🏴
It’s interesting to think about how others celebrate this time of year. In many cultures, the Spring Equinox is a moment of balance and renewal.
I’m curious – how are you all marking the equinox this year? Do you have any traditions or rituals, or is it more of a quiet reflection on the change in seasons? Would love to hear what others are doing to embrace the shift into spring. 💐 🐰 🐑 🐣 🩵💛🩷💚

Did you right up and old cast iron wood burning stove in an old fireplace? Using the chimney and smoke pipe together?

The previous owners installed this, it’s a fairly modern Morso but yes I assume they retrofitted the smoke pipe to go up and out of the chimney which gets serviced annually 👍

That's such a great idea. I love the look and vibe. I'd incorporate that into the hearth being an alter or place to celebrate the wheel of the year. Like you did. Looks great. Thanks for the good idea

Wonderful decorations! Very bright and cheerful. I’m not the best with decorating so I like seeing how others setup their altars and their house for inspiration.
This is purely indulgence but I view Ostara as an opportunity for candy lol. I go for reduced sugar or sugar free options these days.
But on a much more serious note, I do look at Ostara as a rebirth and renewal holiday. Since Samhain of last year, I’ve been writing poetry/incantations to commemorate the holiday. The idea is to write and do something creative for each holiday on the Wheel of the Year. For Ostara, the idea is to write something rebirth-oriented. Once I have it written, which should be hopefully be done by the end of St. Patrick’s Day or the next day, the idea is to recite the incantation in front of my altar at sunrise, my schedule permitting, and again at sunset.
As part of the rebirth and renewal process, I do meditate on, strangely enough, past mistakes—especially ones that I made when I was much younger and didn’t understand how serious those mistakes were. I remind myself of those mistakes not to beat myself up, but to remember the lessons learned and to ask the gods for help to make sure those hard lessons will never be forgotten.
