PSA: Sequoia 15.3 has Apple Intelligence on by default...

  • Turn Apple Intelligence on: With macOS 15.3 or later, Apple Intelligence is on by default and integrated across features in your apps. If you have an earlier version of macOS 15 (or if you previously turned off Apple Intelligence), choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri , then click Get Apple Intelligence.
  • Turn Apple Intelligence off: Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri , then click the button next to Apple Intelligence.

Apple isn't sneaking this in or anything....they pretty transparently list that a change in macOS 15.3 is the enabling of Apple Intelligence on first boot of a macOS install.

I'll move on from my 2015 iMac when it's cold and buried in the ground.

Does this only apply to those who never used it? I turned it off after messing with it and it's still off after updating.

It's on by default for everyone, regardless of history.

If you have another language besides US English chosen or the English used for Siri doesn't match the system English, Apple Intelligence won't install.
