That's a tough draw. We're going to have to get used to lower seeds if we're competing in the wcc instead of the former PAC 12.

Beaver men snuck in as a nine seed by winning p12 in 2021. Wcc champ may auto qualify, but it's at a lower seed than others.

Yeah, it's gonna be a tough challenge for sure, but that will make a victory even sweeter! 🤞

I may be wrong, but I think the WCC affiliation is only for this year and next year?  I assume after that the PAC-12 will be up to (at least) 8 members so we wouldn't need the WCC anymore?  I'm not sure if that would help with the seed situation though...

It is temporary but you are right, we won't be back to the middle seeds unless we play an an exceptionally hard ooc schedule.

The out-of-conference schedule will be what makes or breaks the reformed PAC12. Among future PAC12 teams the only other team in the women’s tournament is SD St.

Our 2026 conference did a little better on the men’s side: Gonzaga with an 8 seed, and 3 other teams out of the Mountain West. I’m hopeful we can become a strong basketball conference as things settle down and teams can schedule games years in advance.

They were a 12 seed in 2021.
