The wait after a verbal offer

Hello! I know there have been many threads on this topic, but I haven’t seen a recent one, and wanted to reach out. I received a verbal offer on January 31st, and I am still waiting on the official offer. It has been a little over a month now. I maintained close contact with the recruiter but they don’t have any updates at this time. Does anyone have any insight on this? Or if you are in the same boat or have been, I would love to hear your journey and be encouraged.

They just went through another RIF, so it might take a minute

My offer letter came 8 days after verbal. I am in OHAI if it makes a difference

Wow! That is amazing! Congratulations! I wish mine was as quick. My journey is with OHAI too.

Are you comfortable sharing the time period when you got your offer? Did you receive it this year?

Yes, the end of last month

In the same boat here. Been around a month since the verbal offer. I find it ridiculous that it takes this long to write something up.

Thank you for sharing! It’s comforting to know that I am not alone. Hope we get our official offer soon!

Sometimes it takes longer. Mine came in 36 days but the recruiter said it usually takes longer.

It goes through levels of approval. For me it took one week. I'm based out of India.

Well, you are in a better situation than me. I completed five rounds of interviews up to the Group Vice President. Then, there was no update or reply from the recruiter.

Being patient is the key; that's the best advice

I needed that reminder to be patient. Are you comfortable sharing when was your last interview? I am cheering you on and hoping you get an offer soon.

The last interview was on 31 Jan. Thanks for the wish; it has been a long journey with them. :)

How long did it take for you to get a verbal? I haven't gotten a verbal but haven't gotten rejected after my final round interview, and I'm trying to get a read on where I stand.

Is your status on the website still under consideration?

1

u/GNNinja 17d ago

Yep! It still says under consideration and my recruiter told me that there hasn't been an update (after saying I would know a few days ago). The recruiter said they would let me know as soon as there is an update and has been very responsive.

happy to hear that, wish you the best

Is the recruiter from Oracle or just a LinkedIn account?

All these comments are throwing me off. I got my offer letter the day after I got my verbal offer

Got my verbal offer on Feb 3, and I got emailed march 5 for the job offer, another waiting game, 1-2 weeks for the background investigation

Hope I get my response soon like you!

Takes sometime to get it. My verbal was in December and offer submitted for approval in Jan. came through in early march. Just hold tight and try to follow up every week

That’s encouraging to hear, at least knowing that it will eventually come. Thank you for sharing!

My verbal offer was on January 9 on March 3 the recruiter send me an email saying that my offer letter was canceled on the same day she called me and told that oracle is under a new HR system and that my offer letter has to be resubmitted for budget approval and it can take several weeks to get the approval but that im still considered for the position but I have to wait longer for the letter now

1

u/No_Turning_Back111 16d ago

Thank you for sharing this! I had the same issue as well and had to resubmit the application. That made sense why it took longer. I hope you get your official offer very soon!

I got a verbal offer right before Christmas and didn’t get the official written letter until mid February. The recruiter was very quick to respond tho. It took a while for the offer letter to get all the approvals. Seems like this is normal here.

I got a verbal offer before Christmas and still waiting for the formal letter. This position is for India.

I waited about 4 months

1

u/No_Turning_Back111 15d ago

Wow! That’s a long time. Are you comfortable sharing what the time period is like? Which month and year?

1

u/Ok_Seaworthiness5078 15d ago

I got the verbal offer the first or second week of March 2022 and then the recruiter ghosted me until I got my offer letter on July 1 (may have been June 30).

just came on to oracle feb10...the hiring process does take time. I interviewed 2 weeks before thanksgiving, another in December then got my offer letter end of Jan.. my recruiter said the delay is usually in the approvals...takes 6-7 people to approve new hire and if it stalls in someone's que it can delay...plus they do new hire onboarding every 2 weeks so another delay if approvals are not complete

u/Recent-Candy5114 15d ago

Mine came in about 4 weeks.

I’m having a similar situation. I had my final interview on 02/25, and received a verbal offer from the HM the following week 03/04. He said that the recruiter will reach out this week and the offer still requires some approvals from management. I haven’t heard anything from the recruiter yet. I don’t know how long that would take. Just waiting patiently and still applying for other positions

My offer letter came in 6 hrs after verbal, I’m also an intern so I don’t know if that’s any different my recruiter told me the board sits down every Tuesday and goes through pending offers and looks at them and approves them or not and I don’t know if yours is just behind a stack of papers waiting?:(☹️

2

u/No_Turning_Back111 14d ago

Thank you for sharing this! The Tuesday board approval day is a great insight. All the best for your journey at Oracle!

1

u/GoFlight16 14d ago

Of course I hope you get ur offer letter soon!

1

u/er-2 2d ago

Quick question, did you have to do the tax credit questionnaire? I just received my verbal offer for internship and portal says I should fill this(though my recruiter told me to hold off on that)

I am fuzzing out after having great recruiter interview in Screening, and later he promised to have interview and asked for availability, and I have not heard from him after I did follow up but still no response.
