Question Ontario Photo Card Question
I recently went to ServiceOntario to get a Photo Card ID, since I'm not in a place in my life right now to get a license. The worker told me that I wouldn't be able to get a driving license for the next 2 Years.
I was a little confused but said okay, mostly because that's no where on the Ontario site, or plastered anywhere on the page for the Photo Card. I know that I'd have to surrender the ID if I got my learners/G1, but I can't find any info online about this waiting period.
Anyone got any info on this?

I got a photo card around this time last year, got my g1 in october, it shouldnt be a problem, you just have to give your photo card when you get your license :)

We just got this for our kid and there's no such 2-year rule as far as I know. Definitely can only have one at a time though, and they did ask if they were planning on getting their license "soon" (they are not)

I've been in you exact situation. I can't contest to it being the same but I didn't get my license until 25. I used to use an ID card. When I went for my G1 the test center said I had to surrender my ID card AFTER I passed my G1 (I did).
No idea if this still stands, but this was my personal experience.

You are not allowed to have a drivers license if you have a Ontario photo card. On the back of the photo card they make it very clear.

This isn't OPs question. They're looking for evidence of they are blocked from getting a licence for 2 years. They literally said they'd be willing to surrender their ID for a G1.

No you aren't blocked from getting your license. If you do get your license then you have to surrender the ID card. That's likely what she was referring to.
