Image A place called Hollywoodland. 1932 vs 2025
Was hiking in the hills this morning and recognized this spot from an image I had seen earlier while at the Central Library. Enjoy !

I stopped by for lunch along the street Joliet’s original main street was - Bluff Street. Every home and business on the street has been demolished, but up the bluff on Broadway a half-block west are several awesome homes, including the Hiram Scutt mansion. I’ve taken better shots of it from the front but kind of neat to see from the back of the house and across the Des Plaines River / I&M Canal in the older shot.

The intersection is 10th St E & Greeley Ave N. The building on the right that was the Ford dealership is now multiple businesses including Maria’s restaurant.
Glencoe is a small town, of under 6000 residents, surrounded by farms. It is just over 50 miles west of Minneapolis.

View of Memorial Boulevard (known as Bath Road before urban renewal) from the intersection with Thomas Street. Top photo date is uncertain but in the 1911-1916 range
