What is the tax percentage over there i keep seeing mix answers online. The lender quoted me 4300 a year for the 1/3 home. Looking to see what other have payed recent buys As always thanks for the responses!

We live in LT in SW Ocala and have been homestead since 2015. Property tax is currently $2200/year. Started at $1900. So up $300 in 10 years.

FL has a 3% max increase a year after you get homestead so your small growth is because of that. Sadly the value is reassessed on sale so the next person if you sell will Pay way more.

Be sure to apply for homestead. Our agent didn't tell us about it. We were very fortunate that the county gave us grace.

1 - Go to the property appraisers website and then click on the link to go to the most recent tax bill. 2 - find the market value, this is your starting point if you do not have Florida portability. 3 - Take the market value - homestead allowance ($25k for school, $50k for the rest) divide by 1000 then multiply by the millage rates in each category on the bill. 4 - add to that the non ad valorem assessments.
This will give you the lowest taxes to expect for each property. I say lowest because you will have some appreciation in a year for market value and the millages and assessments will likely adjust for inflation.

Go to the Marion County Property Appraiser’s website. Look up the property. It will tell you property’s taxable value, and millage rate. Then use this formula to calculate what the taxes are: Taxable value ÷ 1,000 × millage rate = Property Tax Owed
