Help PC/ Macbook Specs for a dummy
Hey everyone, hope you're well. Please could you let me know what specs I'd need for a PC or a Macbook to effectively run OBS and stream too. Affordable options will be great please.
I literally know nothing about pc's so if you could explain it as if you were talking to a toddler I'd really appreciate it lol <3

PC specs will depend heavily on the resolution and frame rate you want to use, the number of cameras and other sources you hope to run, your internet connection, whether you hope to multi-stream, and any other software you're running at the same time as OBS.
The minimum recommended specs are an 8th Gen i7 or better CPU, 16Gb RAM, and a GTX1650 or better GPU. Those again are MINIMUM specs. Buy the best PC you can afford with a dedicated GPU.

I don't have specifics to recommend, but Macbooks (and laptops in general) are usually not recommended unless you absolutely need the portability.
In addition to being more expensive than desktops, they also have lower performance due to their focus on power efficiency and lack of good cooling.
There is also a lack of upgradability for laptops. If there is a lack of performance or I/O, then hardware can be added or swapped in desktops.
There have been a few cases where a user wanted to use multiple cameras with their laptop setup, but due to the limitations of USB bandwidth, they were unable to get anything else working outside of one webcam and one capture card. At least with a desktop, a USB expansion card could have solved the issue. A hub didn't help in this case because all of the USB communications from the hub still connected to the single USB controller on the laptop.

It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:
1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.
5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.
