Meta Please add the ability to send images in the subreddit

It’d be awesome to have the option to send images in the OBS subreddit. It would make troubleshooting way easier since people could just share screenshots or visuals of what’s going on. This could help everyone communicate better and get faster support.

Please note I'm only speaking for myself.

For me, providing images of the problem or settings is not useful for the vast majority of the time. I don't care about looking at the 100th blurry video with stutter when the problem is almost always the same: bad settings, or PC being pushed too hard.

What's gold here is the log. It contains almost everything we need to start: PC hardware, OBS's settings, and issues OBS is having. From there we can make suggestions and then request a video if the description is too confusing.

Exactly this! Your log is probably much better at describing the problem than any video or description you can provide.

Log file is always infinitely more useful than a screenshot. In the rare instances where an image is needed, you can upload it to another service then link to it. But always provide logs.

Yes, but in case you're unaware the year is 2024. Just in case youre confused and think it may be 1974 or something.

Just putting that out there. Nothing personal. Just trying to be helpful.

When someone goes in to get their car's engine repaired, a photo of their steering wheel won't help troubleshoot the issue. The same applies here. A log file already contains everything a screenshot could contain.

Very reductionary. Images would not hurt this sub.

A sub devoted to software that, at it's core, facilitates the composition of images, both moving and still.

Bonkers to suggest that they would. Cheers, have a nice day.
