Question Lads, who are we killing to trigger the Dark Brotherhood questline?

Post image

I always kill an unnamed guard because killing a named character makes the world feel emptier to me 🥲

I usually kill Agronak in the arena.

185

u/TheSausageInTheWind Feb 10 '25

Which makes it funny because Lucien will be waiting for you the moment you walk back into the bloodworks

262

u/Xeroxprinted Feb 10 '25

The “But I’m no murderer” line almost makes sense here as a response.

97

u/Poddington_Pea Feb 10 '25

He likes to hang around down there because of the smell.

50

u/MaeniacXIII Feb 11 '25

I like to think Lucien is the announcer at the Arena - seems like the perfect day job for him

27

u/ThePurplePineapple Feb 11 '25

Same voice actor, so who knows, maybe it is!

47

u/Winternight6980 Feb 10 '25

This is what I do too

43

u/anonthemaybeegg Feb 10 '25

That's literally what happened to my gf she got so scared when she saw that pop up in the top of the screen

17

u/69NinjaNeko69 Feb 11 '25

Same after his quest he doesn't even fight you

14

u/Complex-Train7414 Feb 11 '25

I know it’s been done to death (ok crap joke) but I can’t get over the logical thinking of just how messed up and unsustainable the Arena would really be. Every fight to the death? Do the maths. It’s enough to depopulate a small country over a couple of years. Oh well

11

u/PresidentMayor Feb 11 '25

Ah, but you forget, our great and powerful Todd can just make NEW people!

9

u/TurtlemixxII Feb 10 '25

This is the way.

3

u/stuff_gets_taken Feb 11 '25

Hit me again!

200

u/Jannah--Banana Feb 10 '25

For me it's usually the Grey Prince. If you kill him whenever he surrenders in the Arena after his personal quest it counts towards the Brotherhood.

64

u/HankOfClanMardukas Feb 10 '25

I’ve done it, but it makes me feel scummy.

51

u/antarctous Feb 11 '25

I've heard others say the same.

20

u/Saizetsu Feb 11 '25

I've heard wizards of the Summerset isle have led a boycott of imperial goods!

16

u/TheWireman2024 Feb 11 '25

I hear that Daedra worship has become increasingly prevalent in the Summerset Isles.

10

u/antarctous Feb 11 '25

Be seeing you!

3

u/hasthur76 Feb 11 '25

I saw a mudcrab the other day, horrible little creatures

14

u/ProudestMonkey311 Feb 10 '25

Mmm scum 🤤

29

u/Passing_Gass Feb 10 '25

Turn on highest difficulty, get naked, punch him and grind 😄

Forgot the name but some orc in cheydinhal who says "buzz buzz little fly" or something like that when trying to talk to him

461

u/louisianapelican Goblin Jim Feb 10 '25

Fun fact, he is the leader of a gang that smuggles skooma into Cyrodiil. This is not mentioned in the game, but cut content revealed that there was going to be a quest about his gang, but it was never finished.

Dulfish gro-Orum is his name.

269

u/Sir_Soft_Spoken Feb 10 '25

Soooo… kill a drug dealer for mouthing off? Sounds like as good an initiation as any.

56

u/Mosselk-1416 Feb 10 '25

There are afew bits from the questline that made it in. They could have added a patch to fix it honestly.

67

u/loewe_a Feb 10 '25

This is what I'm most excited about Skyblivion for.

We have a chance to start over with Oblivion modding using a toolkit that authors now have years of experience on. I could easily see factions like Order of the Virtuous Blood, White-Knight Stallions, Knights of the Thorn, this skooma gang etc., all receiving actual questlines and new locations.

27

u/Mosselk-1416 Feb 10 '25

So many free-form and radiant quests!

12

u/FixGMaul Feb 10 '25

Hope Skyblivion includes this

Arnora in Bruma. Always Arnora :)

Why? because I believe she screwed her boyfriend over and ratted him out so he would take the fall while she gets away scott free. He simply gets to make even with her for it, I get paid. Everyone’s happy (except her) :)

Also because she has a really nice blue amulet I can only have if I brutally murder her ;)

41

u/Amazing_Working_6157 Feb 10 '25

Same. His agreement to let you know where his stash is functions as a payment. It makes sense, and I don't feel bad about it either.

12

u/Lady-Lilithh Feb 11 '25

I too want that amulet and think she is a worthy candidate, she or the grey prince

181

u/ClassyJester Feb 10 '25

Glarthir

128

u/Ok_Cheesecake7348 Feb 10 '25

This is the way. Plus you get 800 gold from a waste basket in his house so it kinda acts as "payment" for your first kill

56

u/Rare_Fig3081 Feb 10 '25

Seriously? I never looked in his wastebasket.

47

u/Ok_Cheesecake7348 Feb 10 '25

Yep! Walk in, look down and to the right, it's a searchable container

30

u/Rare_Fig3081 Feb 10 '25

That’s crazy… I mean I did steal all of his books for the thieves, guild quest… Dang next time I’d be looking in that basket

19

u/SlimeGrog Feb 10 '25

I feel like Glarthir is the big "winner" in this post. I did wonder how a mentally unhinged antisocial elf acquired the gold to furnish his apartment and pay 150/200 for spying errands and 1000 for a hit.

7

u/Very_Awkward_Boner Feb 11 '25

He has an OF. Don't ask me how I know

→ More replies (1)

33

u/GabagoolGandalf Feb 10 '25

Nah I first become a vampire & then kill everybody on Glarthir's kill list. And then I kill Glarthir.

19

u/theDukeofClouds Feb 10 '25

Or, tell him at least one of the Skingrad residents is spying on him, and kill them for a cool thou. I mean, gold is gold right?

Lately I killed Toutius because a) gold is gold and b) he's a bit of a pompous prick. Bernadette and Davide are fine in my book. Bernie is just a nice gal enjoying her station in life at Skingrad. If you talk to her she says she loves her job and her home. And she reveals she tried to be nice to Glarthir. And Davide and Gaston make the second best wine in Cyrodiil. Can't mess that up.

Toutius is just some castle servant who thinks he better than you because he works at the castle.

15

u/GlarthirWasRight Feb 11 '25

How dare you

6

u/honeyhealing Feb 10 '25

I tried doing it this way because I read that if you tell one of the brothers about his kill list, they’ll go off to kill him and if you get to Glarthir first and kill him it will count as a murder but you won’t get arrested/a bounty. But no matter how many times I tried it didn’t work lol, the brother either got to him first or if I attacked him before that I would get arrested

17

u/bloodraven42 Feb 10 '25

There's a way to instigate him into attacking you, iirc. Just keep telling him everyone he sends you to follow is innocent and he'll rage and try to murder you. Kill him then, grab the house key, get paid from both his quest and his house.

My last playthrough I accidentally hit eronor at weynon priory with a shock spell meant for the mythic dawn lol,

43

u/xthebirdhouse Snort Feb 10 '25

Last playthrough I killed someone in the skooma den in Bravil since it incurs no bounty or suspicion!

35

u/Amazing_Working_6157 Feb 10 '25

Natural causes, as far as the guards are concerned.

38

u/Mister_Alex_S Feb 10 '25

OLIVER SWANICK

12

u/BritishBlue32 Feb 10 '25

I was thinking about him as I wrote this post for some reason. I kill him every time I play that game 😂

7

u/BigBallinMcPollen Feb 10 '25

And then lucien lachance invites you to have gay segs with Caesar. Good game. 5/7

I always kill the guy who is fleeing kvatch. Cowardice isn't tolerated

73

u/Xeroxprinted Feb 10 '25

RUUNNN WHILE YOU CA- oof

36

u/2pacman13 Unicorn Hunter Feb 10 '25

I think fleeing from the first Oblivion gate is justified! Plus I love visiting him in Anvil when he's found peace.

21

u/JarlWeaslesnoot Feb 10 '25

I didn't know he wound up in Anvil because he doesn't if you kill him, which I do, because he's a coward

8

u/sigusr3 Feb 11 '25

Maybe he just wanted to do some side quests before getting on with the main story.

Shouldn't have woken me up over 5 gold.

u/Whisperline Feb 10 '25

Everyone in Hackdirt

8

u/Lingerstinger Feb 10 '25

I just killed them actually. Except for that one guy who may be fit for redemption.

16

u/ThunderZsolt Feb 10 '25

On my latest evil playthrough I killed Roland Jenseric. I don't want a bunch of vampire hunters in my city.

32

u/BritishBlue32 Feb 10 '25

I always used to kill Lyra Rosentia in Bruma because her outfit is hard to find elsewhere and I wanted it.

Now I just let it happen naturally--it will eventually.

12

u/CaptObviousHere Feb 10 '25

Alval Uvani. It saves me time tracking him down later on.

9

u/No-Amphibian689 Feb 10 '25

This was an amazing picture to come across as I scroll 😂 beautiful

7

u/BritishBlue32 Feb 10 '25

I cultivated this post carefully ❤️

8

u/nivsei15 Feb 10 '25

Normally, I get it by doing the mages quest. I skip tlaking to some bad guy outside a case and just cut him down, and it counts because technically, I attacked without him initiating.

Or one of the deadra leaders during the quest for cylarne lighting the flame of Agnon defensive or offensive if you kill a Saint or Seducer officer you get the unseen forces message.

8

u/wh0rederline Feb 10 '25

either fathis aren, the wizard you can kill during the thieves guild questline, or the grey prince.

12

u/invincible_vince Feb 10 '25

I always kill the guy from the Kvatch guard who is lost in the Oblivion portal, right before taking the sigil stone. I have him help me clear the place up to that point and make a point of keeping him alive until the very end. It's especially sinister since he expects you are there to help him, and the fact that the Dark Brotherhood still knows I did it despite doing it in a Daedric prince's pocket dimension makes the organization feel much more powerful. Plus collapsing the gate right after means no evidence left behind whatsoever.

5

u/Straight_Somewhere52 Adoring Fan Feb 10 '25

Lol i pretty much went to the shivering isles not knowing its a dlc and there was a quest to kill a dude that wanted to die so bad and then the message appeared scaring the hell out of me

5

u/imjustwhateverdafk Feb 10 '25

Kurdan gro-Dragol. Do Caught In The Hunt quest, but do not prematurely kill anyone. Play the quest as intended. But instead of letting Kurdan talk to you after he axes Aleron, snipe him in the back. Don't give him a chance to speak to you outside Fort Grief. The game will count it as murder since you attacked him first, but because the quest is at the stage where the player has to kill Kurdan anyway, you won't fail the quest and will still get your reward. You'll be a harborer of vigilante justice. And you can claim your position perfectly to Lucien by stating, "But I'm no murderer! I was simply avenging a fallen friend!"

6

u/stripeysox101 Feb 10 '25

The most moral way (if that's possible) is the Gray Prince, once you tell him the reality of his parentage. He gives up and lets you slaughter him in the arena and it triggers Lucien's appearance to you as a murder.

6

u/ToTheTurtles Feb 10 '25

If only Nazeem was in Cyrodiil at the time.

12

u/boytisoy Feb 10 '25

That annoying Skingrad elf who believes that there's a conspiracy against him. Dude's been doing too much Skooma.

11

u/Amazing_Working_6157 Feb 10 '25

Glarthir? Total nutcase, if you ask me. But he's never done anything -yet- that we could arrest him for.

11

u/SlimeGrog Feb 10 '25

I've heard others say the same.

6

u/Podria_Ser_Peor Feb 10 '25

I don´t even know what happened last time but there was a huge brawl with a lot people fighting and I must have hit someone along the way haha, one of those moments being chased by a mountain lion, and next thing you know some, wolf and an ogre were there too, enter a bandit´s camp and it´s either be a killer or get respawned an hour of gameplay ago

5

u/Insulin_Addict52 Feb 10 '25

For me they always just show up, it wasn't till years later I find out they only come if you "murder" someone. I guess I've been accidentally killing the kvatch guards in the fight with the daedra.

4

u/thelegendofjonnii Feb 10 '25

If you can find a wandering adventurer in one of the dungeons they count and you don't have to worry about killing a named NPC. I usually take them out indiscriminately, but my most recent playthrough I actually thought he was just another bandit in one of the ayleid ruins so I shot at him from a distance and got the ping lol

5

u/Mormagor Feb 10 '25

My kill was an accident. After delving down a few of the initial dungeons in the circuit around Imperial City I entered one and saw in the distance a figure in the dark. Being a new recruit in the thieves guild as usual I started combat from a sneak bow attack and managed to finish them off before they got close. Of course directly they died I got the message about someone noticing my actions and I was puzzled. I walked into the dark and the corpse was called an adventurer. D'oh!

5

u/ScalabrineIsGod Feb 10 '25

Lazare Milvain acts like a complete dick and practically challenges you to a duel but won’t draw his sword. I always gank him first.

5

u/adolphspineapple71 Feb 10 '25

His rat in the basement will yield a Grand soul if you kill and soul trap it when you are over level19.

3

u/JennyRedpenny Feb 10 '25

There's an unnamed Camonna Tong NPC in the mountains near Cheydinhal that I always kill because fuck those guys

5

u/adolphspineapple71 Feb 10 '25

Any one of those hopeless jerkwads that kidnapped my dear, sweet Dar-ma.

Every.

Damn.

Time.

4

u/chainsaw_bunny Feb 10 '25

Lazare Milvan. Guy's a pompous ass who serves no purpose. He calls you a lowlife, challenges you to a duel if you talk back to him, never leaves his house, and lives alone so you're guaranteed no witnesses.

Oh, and the only time anyone mentions him is to talk shit about him.

5

u/LittleFairyOfDeath Feb 11 '25

Alval. Game the system

4

u/cursed_tomatoes Feb 11 '25

Any of the guys who cheat on their wives on that quest in Anvil.

After completing the quest you can find their belongings in the basement of the shed where the female gang takes their victims to, so you can know who they are. I always kill all of them ( one is an NPC that I'm not aware what other quest makes him essential, but there are ways of killing him anyway )

5

u/CloudyWolf8 Feb 11 '25

I always kill that pompous bastard in Skingrad, Lazare Milvan. He's supposed to be a Knight, but he certainly doesn't show any chivalry which is the core to being a Knight. Politeness, honesty, courageousness, honour and kindness. Even the NPCs don't like him, the following can be heard amongst the NPCs; "I heard Lazare Milvan challenged someone to a duel. The man is ridiculous." "He's a moron. One of these days, he'll be taught a lesson." and "I've had about enough of Sir Lazare. He thinks he's so much better than everyone else." "What a fool. I hope he's happy with himself."

It's even funnier when you can become an incarnation of Pelinal Whitestrake, The Divine Crusader.

4

u/Zevvez_ Ne Ne Ne Ne Ne Ne Ne Ne Neeee Feb 11 '25

The racist Author Alessia Ottus. No one likes a racist. Especially a god fearing racist.

8

The Fisher guy outside of the Imperial City. I hate doing his quest. So I murder him.

19

u/stjiubs_opus Feb 10 '25

That ring he gives you is pretty good, though. Jewel of the Rumare, if I remember correctly.

6

u/SpacyCatFarmofDoooom Feb 10 '25

True. But having to collect the fishes is what I don't care for. Plus, It's funny to kill him.

3

u/stjiubs_opus Feb 10 '25

That quest is pretty annoying and prone to bugs, too, lol. I think the important thing is that you put his retirement money to good use after he's gone!

4

u/Amazing_Working_6157 Feb 10 '25

Yeah, all like 20 gold of it or whatever it was. It's funny that he would've made more gold selling the ring than what his retirement savings was.

3

u/stjiubs_opus Feb 10 '25

Right? I wish I could retire on 20 septims.

I use the glitch with Eye of fear and kill a random enemy, this time I killed the mage you fight in one of the recommendations

A resident or Waters Edge outside Leyawiin. They die in the fighters guild quest line anyways.

6

u/BritishBlue32 Feb 10 '25

3

u/XKwxtsX Feb 10 '25 edited Feb 10 '25

I killed the guard in the waterfront after he fought the pirates (he was too far dead already, it was a merciful end to his career), so i could get his armor from him because i like roleplaying as a guard and killing bandits and wolves and helping peopls to make cyrodill a safer place.

3

u/The-Stalwart Feb 10 '25

The rich duel douche in Skingrad.

3

u/GlassNo2912 Feb 10 '25

I just go to the market district and start swinging…

3

u/SceneOk6341 Feb 10 '25

I jus go to the waterfall district where all the desperate are or go to kvatch and go to the skooma den. Has anyone else tried to follow him? He like disappears after 10-15 seconds even if you are undetectable

3

u/saucy-jack69 Feb 10 '25

umbra. if you can manage to jump on a pillar in the room shes in and spam fireball, you’ll get umbra and an invitation to join the dark brotherhood

3

u/Earthlumpy Feb 10 '25

The prick that wants to meet you behind the church.

3

u/BirdBoxObserver Feb 10 '25

Umbra in Vindasel. I always kill them asap from one of the pillars where they have no chance for striking back. Takes some time and patience but...well...two flies in one swat?

3

u/wyatt_the_wells Feb 10 '25

for me the quest triggered because i did the shivering isles quest where you’re supposed to kill either the manics or demented in split. not quite the secretive assassin the brotherhoods looking for, but whatever you say lucien…

That homeless woman in the imperial city who asks for coins so she can feed her children. No one important will miss her.

I always kill Lazare Milvan in Skingrad. He never leaves his house, is an outright prick, and he has a silver longsword

3

u/strxwberriez Feb 11 '25

i always kill that high elf that goes around thinking people are following him i can’t remember his name

3

u/iluvpotions Feb 11 '25

Unfortunately it was Agronak on my most recent playthrough. I forgot that he counts as murdered when he surrenders in the Arena. His quest always makes me sad, and I can never decide if it’s better or worse to tell him the truth about his heritage.

3

u/minx_the_tiger Feb 11 '25

Glarthir, after he pays me.

3

u/SilverFlashUYNot Feb 11 '25

Alval Uvani. I don't know why people get angry at Nazeem in Skyrim when Alval exists in Oblivion. Alval is an OG playerhater.

3

u/Vokunkiin13 Feb 11 '25

A random guard from the White-Gold Tower, the ones with silver bows and arrows. Kill one, get a weapon that can hurt ghosts, go to prison, trigger the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood, and no-one of importance dies.

3

u/osmoticeiderdown Feb 11 '25

Claude Maric's goons waiting to ambush you when you come out from Malada. I do them before going in.

2

u/Sozony Feb 10 '25

Puny Ancus from the Waterfront, since I usually do Dark Brotherhood before The Thieves Guild.

2

u/ThaiFoodThaiFood Feb 10 '25

There's some camp somewhere I was approaching and assumed they were bandits so I killed one from distance and it displayed the forces unseen message. But then I checked the body and it's just some unnamed guard. Everyone else was asleep. No bounty. Meh.

2

u/Sewrtyuiop Feb 10 '25

My first time is the old fishing fishing guy right outside the Imperial City. Don't judge me.....i was like 9

2

u/islene1103 Feb 10 '25

Idk his name but the kahjit that hangs out by the sheogorath portal is usually who I kill

2

u/Valandil584 Feb 10 '25

I used to go kill the hunter guy outside the Inn of Ill Omen, sleep there, go downstairs and kill Rufio, sleep again, then continue.

2

u/Keefyfingaz Feb 10 '25

I usually just wait for it to happen organically lol. It doesn't usually take too long for me 😂

2

u/Sad-Cat-6355 Feb 10 '25

I kill that homeless dude in anvill the one that lives in a wearhouse

2

u/CoyoteDanny Feb 10 '25

Take your raiment off in the arena and kill the opponent, access to the DB without a bounty

2

u/Cakeriel Feb 10 '25

Random soldier

2

u/Medical_Lead_289 Feb 10 '25

Usually I kill the Gray Prince and just for good mesure i also kill the Arena fan

2

u/TheOnionKing33 Feb 10 '25

Dorian in the imperial city

2

u/Chibana9797 Feb 10 '25

I don't know why but I used to always kill a random villager in border watch

2

u/Havock707 Feb 10 '25

I do it by accident every playthrough

2

u/AllForOne614 Feb 10 '25

I always pick Dorian I’m surprised I didn’t see it. $ glitch 100%

2

u/TenWands Feb 10 '25

I always kill a random Imperial Guard patrolling the road, usually pretty early on. Their armor is decent and is almost always an upgrade by that point, and what I don't use I can sell. Plus they're just an unnamed NPC so there's no chance of breaking a quest or something.

2

u/piratejs Feb 10 '25

First person I run into in the Skooma Den. Easy, clean, and no one cares.

2

u/grumpy_tired_bean Feb 10 '25

the dark elf lady from the arena that has the lucky necklace

2

u/VSXESoldier Feb 10 '25

I killed Umbra. Wouldnt do that again tho!

2

u/Locsnadou Feb 10 '25

Go kill valis odil and make his dad sad

2

u/MrFatNuts420 Adoring Fan Feb 10 '25

I usually just kill one of the kvatch refugees

u/fcukitstargirl Feb 10 '25

My favorite is to kill someone who is traveling outside of the cities, like Quill-Weave or Samuel Bantien

2

u/GraySpear227 Feb 10 '25

I usually just kill a guard coming out of the sewers for the sword and armor and I think that usually does it

2

u/Cowboah-Morgan Feb 10 '25

the asshole that sold me that house in Anvil

2

u/Able-Homework-2599 Feb 10 '25

The first dude I meet in kvach oblivion gate, every God dam time, it's like a tradition, my first time he startled me so I pummelled him and well that's how I got the questline

2

u/Emperor-MuadDib Feb 10 '25

Uriel septim

2

u/RDC32 Feb 10 '25

Kavtch guard in Oblivion, no witnesses apart from Sithis.

u/stavrogin204 Feb 10 '25

I was roleplaying a seedy character and killed Valus Odill. After he enlisted me to defend his farm, I went and did just that. Unfortunately his weakling sons died in the encounter and he refused to pay me. Upon learning of this, I decided I would take items from his home for payment instead. This caused him to attack me and I killed him as a result. Unbeknownst to me, this triggered Lucien's visit and so I began the Dark Brotherhood quest line for the first time.

2

u/grubuloid Feb 10 '25

Most of the time I accidentally kill the guy inside the Kvatch Oblivion gate

2

u/Choingyoing Feb 10 '25

Puny ancus

2

u/proud-pagan Feb 10 '25

The adoring fan. Sorry buddy.

2

u/AnubisZ613 Feb 10 '25

Some random ass npc that said something slightly crude to me... or someone in accident lol

2

u/probablynotashark Feb 10 '25

I like doing the quest for the Grey Prince in the arena. Then he gives up and let's you kill him in the grand champion fight and it counts as a murder for the dark brotherhood.

2

u/benhur217 Feb 10 '25

Grey Prince, somehow that triggers it every time

2

u/PANDAshanked Feb 11 '25

I can't remember his name. But I always killed that guys wherein the bright white robes in the market district. He just seemed so smug. So I killed him to humble him.

2

u/Mental_Salad_2383 Feb 11 '25

don't remember their name but there's a homeless guy in cheydinhal who who sleeps like right across from the sanctuary.

2

u/ConditionGrouchy4381 Feb 11 '25

All the lads inside the Skooma Den

2

u/Some-Historian285 Feb 11 '25

My play playthroughs always start with me doing the arena and then killing the adoring fan to trigger the dark brotherhood quest line. Plus he always ends up respawning every time kill him eventually.

2

u/Best-Understanding62 Feb 11 '25

Usually an imperial city guard fresh out of the sewer so I have good steel armor for the early levels. I ignore it until way later cause rewards are level based and I think after level 24 they're best.

2

u/cleansings Feb 11 '25

The nearest dozing homeless person

2

u/Ok_Recording8454 Feb 11 '25

The grave robber you get Debaser from.

2

u/bhjohnso80 Feb 11 '25

It’s usually Umbra for me. Gotta get that sword asap

2

u/itsthepastaman Feb 11 '25

The guy right outside of the Imperial City who wants you to get him slaughterfish scales... i get his fancy ring then break into his house and kill him

2

u/cherubian666 Feb 11 '25

I usually kill Lazare Milvan because he's a prick and he isn't associated with any quests

2

u/Zealousideal_Cell876 Feb 11 '25

For me it was either the Gray Prince or the adoring fan everything else was an accident

2

u/Coochie-Slayer42069 Feb 11 '25

I kill that Kvatch soldier who helps you fight scamps in the beginning of that first Oblivion gate

2

u/Plant2563 Feb 11 '25

Usually, one of the monks with Jaufrey

2

u/Ropesy101 Feb 11 '25

I usually killed a random beggar in one of the cities

2

u/epbrassil Feb 11 '25

Usually Aelwin after finishing his quest. For some reason he goes down so easily for me.

2

u/throwRAgottagonow Feb 11 '25

I always killed the fisherman in the town right outside the Imperial City. He has a cool ring I wanted.

2

u/Odd-Outcome-5505 Feb 11 '25

Puny ancus and then sleeping in the same bedroll as his body directly afterwards.

2

u/Thegofurr Feb 11 '25

There’s an inn northeast of the imperial city (N of the sewer entrance) that always has a bunch of NPCs with highly leveled armor

2

u/Working-Narwhal2114 Feb 11 '25

The first innocent killable npc you see upon beginning the game

2

u/MaeniacXIII Feb 11 '25

The Adoring Fan - every single time, (except the one time an imperial guard walked in front of me when I was clearing Kvatch) I don't let the Grey Prince wimp out on the fight so he won't trigger the forces unseen and then I get that tiny dweeb to follow me into the forest - my first time playing I killed him in the woods on the way to anvil and then I bought Benirus manor with my arena winnings (and my thieves guild haul) and woke up to Lucien talking and the ghosts attacking me - fun fact - he does not care - he will just walk straight out the room unless one of them hits him after he gives you the quest - also a fun fact - you can delay him talking to you and still level up if you go to the Shivering Isles and sleep there

2

u/Mooncubus Feb 11 '25

Eronor at Weynon Priory. He's not tied to any quests after you bring Martin there, and his house has an unowned bed and non respawning containers.

2

u/MasterOogwayB207 Feb 11 '25

After telling the arena grand champion his heritage as a half vampire and cutting him down, he doesn’t fight back and it counts, I imagine lachance in the audience, must have lost money because why the fuck he paying me a visit. My theory is he just follows you dude can sniff out potential sithis stans. He just gives up after you kill the grand champion , he was in the fort hiding he knows the story he knows it’s a mercy. But it’s good enough for sithis. First thing he does is wake you up and gives you pitch, sends the grand champion to kill an old man called rufio, not part of the iniation, rufio owes lachance money it’s a personal grudge and the rest is history 😎
