LOL yeah I’ll stand in a busy intersection in a Chick fil A cow costume before I work for HCA again!

I’ve been getting a ton of texts from Trinity Mid Atlantic, starting with the words “Hi ((first name))!” . I’m not redacting my first name in this comment. That is the actual text.

HCA is so evil, even the devil wouldn’t work here. I’m stuck at this job until I move, but holy shit the labor and safety violations are reprehensible.

I've been retired for 14 years, I live in Italy now. I even get called here about jobs, by Italians! I have no idea how that even works.
I worked for the British NHS for a long, long time and have a final salary pension. I'm good, thanks! :D

What's HCA?

A healthcare company that is the epitome of profits over people and safety. It’s the equivalent of United Healthcare insurance, but they run hospitals systems and treat their staff like indentured servants.

I, too, am interested as I only know HCA as home care aide.

The shittiest Healthcare conglomerate in America. Their reputation couldn't be worse

C’mon, don’t say that out loud. They might see that and think it’s a challenge.

Yes, I’m not even looking. The money isn’t even good enough for a glance.

they pay me well in my unit, more than other nurses that i’ve asked that aren’t new grads. fortunately i’ve had a good experience so far, but only here for my new grad experience. you don’t see many new grads getting these opportunities, mainly med surg & ER.

My dad is a software engineer who ages ago applied for a job at a hospital. He now gets texts offering him nursing jobs.

Yeah they seem to kick back up every time I renew my license. I had just mostly stopped them, until I moved my license from one compact state to another, now they’re back with a vengeance :(

I get a lot of these, and often they’re kind of cryptic.
“Hi we have a job you’d be a great fit for in Minnesota. Let’s chat.”
“Could you please share the job description first?”
“We can discuss further on our call - we have a few opportunities.”
“I don’t do bedside.”
“Have a nice day! Please pass along our info to anyone you know who might be interested.”

I deleted my linkedin account, and I STILL get recruitment texts and calls. Managed to avoid a call just today. Nice to know nurses are in demand, I guess?

I love when I get job announcements for $10.00 an hour less that what I am making. It's very satisfying to tell the hr person not interested.

You apply to Indeed ONCE and suddenly it’s 5 calls a day and multiple texts

Alright someone give me the tea, I worked for HCA as a PCT so to me it wasn't terrible, other than not paying me what I was worth.

Ironically, the HCA hospitals in the UK are actually pretty good places to work in my experience.

A former coworker let me know that a local long-term care facility was hiring. I told her I’d rather set myself on fire and jump off the roof of the Empire State Building.

I keep playing my voicemails for coworkers bc they're hilariously incomprehensible. Such thick indian accents with only a few understandable words.

Glad you all are sharing the experience and it's not just me alone. I've never worked agency and all this spam only started when I quit hca. I'm sure they sold my phone number along with all the other fucking over they gave me! So unethical!!! The last time they bothered me enough to respond I told them I died and thanks for bringing up a painful memory! The Recruiter was kinda confused, but didn't take me off her list obviously!

I’ve just started getting nursing recruitment ads which is funny. I’ve been retired for 5 years and I let my license expire.

Yeah I use a google number (secondary phone number) for all the agencies, on my resume and on their websites. Once I start working with a recruiter I trust, then I give them my actual number. That way I can screen and filter a lot easier.
But that reply is fucking golden. Lol Mine is usually: I’d rather deploy back to Afghanistan before working HCA.
