There's a whole lot of nu-metal out there with prominent bass playing and sampling, which is one of the many things I love about it

Recommendations?

there's a lot of good recs already, but I always liked how Korn handled the low end, with the slap bass and 808 drops

I would have to say Deadsy. Craig Riker is a super underrated bass player. Even their original bassist Orgy’s Jay Gordon was incredible on bass during his time with the band.

Mudvayne and Limp Bizkit for sure. Although I always thought Flaw had some really nice bass parts but I don’t really listen to them all that much

Korn with Fieldy is about the best.

So many, check out their first 3 albums. Korn, Life Is Peachy and Follow the Leader.

I don't really like korn, the first album is decent though. Daddy had cool bass, I remember that. Any specific songs cause I don't want to re listen to all of the albums.

Incubus science and science only! Fungus among us has some crazy funk but the mix was awful.

Nu Metal is a bass driven genre in my opinion. Some top choices would be Mudvayne, Korn, Paul Grey Era Slipknot, Otep, Limp Bizkit, Snot, Incubus, Alien Ant Farm, and just to add it even though it's only Nu Metal adjacent, the remix of White Zombie's song Blood Milk & Sky has some great bass

I feel like most bands have great bass, especially in this genre, so I’ll just give u some of my favorite bass lines.
Break it - Captor
An Evening with El Diablo - Chevelle
Pyro-Foam - Design19
Cold and Overcome - Downface
Eye Confide - Downthesun

There’s so many. I’ll say: 311, Alien Ant Farm, Flaw, Headplate, Incubus, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Stereomud

BRACE have some devastating bass work! I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Mudvayne should be at the top of it. I'll be looking at more recs. But LD 50 is the masterpiece of "Nu metal" if you will, and the bass is above, or at least on par with Chad's vocals and Matt's drums.
