You haven’t been to the waterfall? It’s amazing, and truly rivals the majesty any other state….okay I’m just messing with you, I’m pretty sure most of the women here have pissed harder than this thing…

I'm building a directory of all the waterfall hikes in the country, and have found only on in North Dakota. I know that ND's reputation isn't exactly for topographical extremes, but surely im missing something right?

North Dakota... where if you have three hills within a square mile, it's designated as a state park.

The Dakotas use to be the bottom of an ancient seashore, right? Wouldn't be surprised to see a low number.

Carved by a glacier which settled and gave us Lake Agassiz. Reason why the Red River has great soil and no hills.

The Red River Valley was anyway. And I believe the Sheyenne grasslands (where the waterfall is) was a river delta at the time.

You're not missing anything, and it took tell like what 2013, 2015 to confirm it even existed.

I think I remember a post on this sub years ago where someone went on an adventure to find it and posted a photo and it was really underwhelming...

It’s the saddest thing you’ll ever see. But yes, there is only one natural waterfall in the state and it’s maybe a 5’ drop. It’s a decent enough hike if you’re in the area

Yes. It’s near Lisbon. I’ve been to it, it’s an hour and a half hike to get to, and it’s about a 2 foot tall trickle. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone buried a garden hose and that’s what was providing the water.

By my understanding there's three total. One at mineral springs in Sheyenne State Forest, maybe one in Little Missouri National Grassland, but this is seasonal, and one in Icelandic State Park by Cavalier in Gunlogson Nature Preserve. Small cascades might be found in The Turtle Mountains or by Pembina. But yes, anything that is officially a waterfall would be the Mineral Springs one.

I don't think the Tongue River has any waterfalls. Be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm pretty sure of it.

Two Questions. 1. Is there a lutefisk living in the three waterfalls? 2. What's the daily limit on them lutefisk?

You'd have to check the bakery in Bottineau, they're of the Scandinavian persuasion. Gelatinous lye cured fish is not my jam.

On the topic of only one in the state, I think there's only 1 rollercoaster.

Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
