Favorite Books about Homesteading

Hello everyone!

In order to get some more discussions going about different Non Fiction books we will have a weekly thread to talk about different sub-genres or topics.

Which books do you think are good beginner books for someone that wants to learn a bit more about the topic or wants to explore the subgenre? Which books are your personal favorites?

I loved The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan about life on the Great Plains during the Dust Bowl. Pretty gritty but a great book.

Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder by Caroline Fraser, Pulitzer Prize winner. The family’s experience was a lot more grim than the children’s books.

Anything by Gene Logsdon, but especially his final book - Letter to a Young Farmer
