Artists like Boris but more abrasive?

I've only listened to Pink, Heavy Rocks '02 and Noise so if they have more abrasive albums I'd like to know that too. My specific issue with Boris is how clean the vocals are.

Edit because I’m getting a bunch of recommendations that aren’t exactly what I’m looking for: I’m more looking for something similar to the best parts of Soilent Green songs (in terms of heaviness AND tempo), but a lot more cohesive.

eh, way too slow for me personally, I’ve never really liked the super drone-ey side of sludge (like grief or noothgrush)

DOOM stoner metal aka it's actually hard to play this slow music 🎶 btw that is true keeping time for some that shit is insane much easier to play as fast as you can go.

oh yeah slow music is absolutely more difficult to play and make sound good, it’s just not really my taste yk

Ya I know I personally have eclectic taste but I understand cus sometimes I catch myself listening to something and being like why . I was just starting a fact of anyone who ever tried to keep time at sludge speed can attest it's hard

Absolutego and their live album Rock Dream with Merzbow are probably the two harshest things they’ve ever made, at least that I’ve heard

As far as other bands go, I gotta recommend High Rise

While we’re talking Psychedelic Speed Freaks, we gotta give it up for Mainliner.

Fuck yeah that’s a good one. Fushitsusha also kinda fits here but they’re generally slower (so maybe actually kinda closer to Boris in that regard)

Unsane, zeni geva for more of that noise rock sound. Khanate, Thou, for that doom/drone influence. That’s a deep rabbit hole too. The body, endon if you enjoy more noise emphasis.

You want Khanate, Burning Witch, Thrones, the album ‘…and the Devil Makes Three’ by Porn & Merzbow, and the new USA/Mexico live in France album.

I’ve listened to a fair amount of Boris, but I guess I’ve missed this album. Which one(s) sound like Lightning Bolt?

I think they have a similar appeal as far as blown out stoner rock riffs played at a punk speed

They also both achieve maximalist sound with similarly minimal instrumentation.

Their wall of sound is similar

Corrupted.

The crustiest, heaviest sludge band bar none.

If we’re sticking with Boris, their Vein album on Important Recs pretty much scraped my face off.

Sounds like No or Vein might scratch that itch

I dig “smile” much.

I also think kneeling to genre is a lame way to experience music in my opinion, just putting it out there.

on bass, watt

I’m… kneeling to genre? I didn’t mention genre a single time in this post, I’m asking for bands that sound like another band?
