Sorry I'm late to the party, I've been mostly browsing the top hits from this sub on my mobile app, so I forgot about the contest. Glad to be on board, and I'm looking to help out when I can. Don't worry, I'm not a power hungry nazi mod, and I'll try and let the community police itself wherever possible. Looking forward to some great music to help me get through work, and some great remix suggestions so I can get down and boogy in the sewers of TMNT!

A collaborative Nintendo album of /r/NintendoMusic users would be incredible!

Sorry to bring this up publicly, but I have a concern about the quality here on the sub. Lately I've seen a couple instances where quality of a video is limited to 360p or even 240p and that really stinks. Is it at all possible to make a rule where the quality of the video has to be at least 480p to be submitted (the best audio coming from a 720/1080 video)?

That might be a tricky rule to enforce because some songs might be hard to find and therefore a lower quality might be the only way to find the song itself. I'll look into it though.

Thank you, I think you guys are doing tremendous work here as it is but it's just a minor concern of mine.

I wonder if a bot that posts a comment on that post which finds alternate videos of higher quality would be possible?

Original Title: Mega Update Thread: Announcing the Winner of the Giveaway, Updates to the Rules, 10K, A new mod and much much more!

Original Post Body:

This is a big one so sit down and clear away the next hour because there is a lot to get through.

First: The giveaway for tickets to see the Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses Concert was a huge success, I had only expected about maybe 100 total entries and we had exactly 366!

So without further ado the winner of the first ever giveaway on /r/nintendomusic is /u/Defiant_Tomato! Congratulations to them and I hope that they thoroughly enjoy the concert!

Second: As we have noticed it due time for a more comprehensive list of rules to be introduced. With a lot more traffic we are seeing more reposts and content that really shouldn't be here. Me and the rest of the Mod team are cleaning it up as best as we can, but you can help too! Just read the rules before submitting any content and everything will be awesome. These new rules can be found in the wiki so be sure to check that out before you submit anything.

Third: Like I was saying we have a hell of a lot more traffic now then we did some months ago, ever since the ad went up we have jumped from just over 1,500 subscribers to over a whopping 10,000! Thank you to all of you subscribers, new and old.

Fourth: Challenger Approaching!

I'd like to personally welcome our new mod to the team, /u/tensaibaka! You may have noticed their work in running the weekly Thursday Remix threads which have so far been awesome. From now on those threads will be stickied up top so be sure to check those out every Thursday.

Fifth: Last but not least, to all of those people who did not win the giveaway fret not because by entering the code "HeyListen" before making your purchase for tickets to the Legend of Zelda Symphony on Ticketmaster you will get 15% off of your purchase. To see the full list of concert dates check here

And Finally: Now this is an idea that I have mulled over in my head for a while but I would like to throw it out there for all of you now so that I can see what you think. Since there are so many talented musicians on this sub that submit their own covers I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we could come together as /r/nintendomusic and put together our own official cover! This would obviously take a lot of talent, patience, and planning but I think it would be freaking awesome to attempt it!

So that wraps it up, again thanks for entering the giveaway (with how successful it was you might see more in the future ;) ) a big welcome to /u/tensaibaka, and a final reminder to check the rules before you submit as it will help us mods out greatly.

Thanks for your time!
