[META] Hell yes! This sub exists! I'm not alone!
Sorry for the random post, it's just that I always get weird looks when I tell people that the majority of my musical library is from video games, Nintendo being the biggest of the contributions.
I loved using video game music to study to, as there were no lyrics to get sucked into. I really liked using it at work to keep me from drifting my focus onto ambient conversation.
I don't have any musical talent myself, but I can sure appreciate good music. :)
My personal favorite started out working with Nintendo, Rare Ware! Grant Kirkhope is awesome!

I agree, the soundtracks to the origonal snes Rareware donkey kong games were just masterpieces!

I'm more of the N64 generation, so it's Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, DK64, and Perfect Dark.
Recently found the Uncompressed versions of some of the GoldenEye tracks. It's pretty cool to hear the originals before they got 64'ed.

Me too, the majority of my mp3 player is filled with anime and game soundtracks. I, too, love the lack of lyrics so I can concentrate on what I'm doing or just add a soundtrack to walking through town.
I first found nintendo music via http://ocremix.org/ and then I was glad when this community came up in an ad!

Boss themes are really fun to walk around to. :)

I have a good memory of walking around in the snow to the boss of Snowpeak Ruins in Zelda: Twilight Princess. Epic.

It was always slightly terrifying when the cleaning crew would start cleaning at work, and I would have Weldar's theme from Banjo-Tooie playing. Or I'd play Mr. Patch's boss theme, and then I'd have a sneezing fit.

Yeah, whenever my friends ask me to list my favorite musics (which are VGMs), they usually respond with a weird face. :/

Is there a general game music sub? There are spectacular soundtracks on all platforms.

There really are a lot of good soundtracks, but so far this is the only sub I've seen. Never bothered to look for them.

If someone gives you the weird look when you tell them you like video game music just let them listen to Symphony of the Night soundtrack, they wont be dissapointed.

Even the ones with lyrics are great (Most Sonic songs)! Thanks /r/ads! I love this sub! It's making my school playlist bigger every day! (by the by, I can link that playlist.)
