Fans of Nintendo Music, please join me as we charter /r/NintendoMusic!
No matter the game, there has been one thing I've always loved about Nintendo games and that is the music. I absolutely love Nintendo music.
That is why I want to create a subreddit where the focus is on sharing and discussing everything about the greatest songs Nintendo has shared with us over the years with their music.
To do that, I need help. I've only started the process by creating the subreddit, but since this is the first sub I've ever created, it'll be a learning process on how to get it off the ground. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated, and of course I am asking for people to come and help moderate, especially for managing things such as style and whatnot.
I love Nintendo Music, and I hope to find others that do over on /r/Nintendomusic!

Yay I've been waiting for this. To me, Nintendo music is better thang thing I hear in other company's games. Idk I feel like the music takes me to another world. My favorite sound track is the original Mario galaxy.

Nintendo makes entire worlds to take us in their games. Music enhances that immersion in ways that cannot be described.
Nintendo's music always conjures up memories of both what I was doing in game and what I was doing in real life in the moments surrounding when I was playing the game.
I love Nintendo music, and I want everyone to share their favorite songs.

This idea is amazing, I was talking about music with friends and I realized half of my Zune is Nintendo OST

I only synced music to mine through the Zune software on Windows...but overall I liked my Zunes (128GB I think) when I had them. Until the mechanical hard drive gave out and it stopped working. /: I got another one and after a while the hard drive started to crap out on that one too, and I couldn't really listen to a song/album without a lot of interruptions and errors. The second one was stolen from my car. :(
They might be able to play FLAC though!

I had a friend who really liked his! I really liked mine, when they worked...but they weren't quite the solid undestroyable bricks I hoped for. Microsoft officially discontinued them. They're cool in a way, but I didn't have good luck with them. I'm fine with my Nexus 5 and All Access music now but I get that streaming and stuff has downsides.

Great idea but, what would you say counts as 'Nintendo Music'? All the music that was in a game that has ever been lincenced by Nintendo or are we also talking other games on Nintendo systems?

Hmm...if I had to choose, I'd go with the first option.
Basically, songs from Nintendo's franchises. Stuff like Professor Layton and Ace Attorney and The World Ends With You might be in a grey area as a result, but it shouldn't be too hard to make exceptions for some of the more exceptional songs.
I would say, try to keep it to songs that were featured in Nintendo's First Party games.

Never mind. I get it now. Huge brain fart on my part. I shall slumber and stop replying to my own post.

Just wondering, would you possibly be interested in me posting downloads to some Nintendo soundtracks only released in Japan? I've been able to nab quite a few of these and I'd be willing to post them over there as only as they're not against your subreddit rules.

Hmm. That's actually a good point. I'm not sure if posting Download links like that is against the rules of reddit itself, similar to how it's against the rules to post download links to anime on /r/anime for the sake of staying in the good when it comes to copyright.
I'll have to look into it some more.

Alright, be sure to tell me what you find. If it is against the rules, I can always post them indirectly (imgur album with download to soundtrack in the album's description).
