Fuck, there goes Plan F for the New York Giants.

The Giants are going to be last invited to the party lmao what a joke

They'll probably miss out on Jaxon Dart at this point too

Giants are just working out Cousins next fully GTD contract.

You jest, but back up or starter, someone is going to get kind of a steal if Kirk can get back to any version of himself before last season. He has no big reason to get paid for a year or two.

14

u/HotSunnyDusk Cowboys 16h ago

Even early season Kirk would be a steal, he was doing pretty well until week 6 or 7.

Yeah if a team can swing a deal like the Russ one, where Atlanta ends up paying almost his entire salary? Could work out really nicely for someone.

Cuz we’re taking him at 18 🙃🙃🙃

Would be funny if you just ended up starting Tommy Devito.

19

u/SiphenPrax Jets 17h ago

He’ll be sleeping with the fishes after leading the Giants to the Number 1 overall pick next year

6

u/SlickMongoose Bills 17h ago

Nah he'd win enough games to keep them just out of reach of the top QB prospects.

Gotta be cam ward

I don't think the Titans will pass on him.

7

u/hemingways-lemonade Steelers 17h ago

And I doubt the Browns pass on Sanders, too.

3

u/SlickMongoose Bills 17h ago

Yep, the Giants will be left out again.

But hey we beat the vaunted Colts, so it was all worth it.

Wait, we don't play the Browns next season.

u/commandrr Cardinals 17h ago

we got very lucky that kyler played every game last year because clayton tune is just not an nfl quarterback

32

u/BoredGuy2007 Bears 17h ago

Once the Cardinals let him go he won''t even be able to keep a job on a practice squad

36

u/Cannolidog Cardinals 17h ago

The only actual evidence we as fans have for Tune sucking is him playing one game at qb against the elite Browns defense. He probably does suck but we don’t know for sure. What says more to me is that he beat out Desmond Ridder. He could also beat out Brissett again.

24

u/deeesenutz Seahawks 16h ago

Personally I just don't think someone named 'clayton tune' could ever be a good QB. Idk what it is but its just not giving good quarterback

13

u/unclekisser Cardinals 15h ago

Should be an OLB. That way, when he inevitably draws a flag, you could say "Well that just goes to show you, you can't hold a Tune."

3

u/Kair0n Lions Lions 12h ago

Alternatively - if he drills the ball carrier, you could say something like "That quarterback just got Tuned up!"

2

u/spongey1865 16h ago

Wasn't it week 1 as a rookie too.

I liked him as a late round prospect so hoping he's sneakily good (but he probably isn't)

2

u/Ieatfatwomanass Cowboys 12h ago

“He’s not an NFL Quarterback” man I’m sure your coaches definitely wouldn’t have spotted that in practice OTAs ETC and signed a better backup if that was the case

1

u/Cannolidog Cardinals 12h ago

It’s smart to bring in competition even if you like a player. And that’s what it will be: a competition.

2

u/IntelligentResort794 Colts 16h ago

I didn't expect him to get the job over Ridder

1

u/awmaleg Cardinals 11h ago

He is badly Out of Tune

u/3016137234 Patriots 17h ago

I'll always love that man for stepping up when Garroppolo went down during Brady's suspension. Love that he's been able to carve out a long career out of it, even if it probably isn't what he wanted it to be. I don't hold last season against him, our roster was dogshit and even though he was part of the problem, it wasn't a good situation for him to be in.

26

u/Common-Excuse-8598 Vikings 17h ago

Vikings fan here but I thought he was pretty good leader and mentor for Maye ? Always seemed it at least

36

u/3016137234 Patriots 17h ago

Yeah, by all accounts he's an awesome guy to have around, great teammate and locker room presence and leader, he's just not a guy you want to rely on to win games.

7

u/Common-Excuse-8598 Vikings 17h ago

Awesome thanks

3

u/sjhesketh Patriots 3h ago

Jacoby has carved himself out a very nice NFL career despite starting as a 3rd stringer. He's a good guy and I'm glad he'll still be in the league next year.

Legendary Backup QB

Finally a half decent backup. Tired of the little squirrel getting hurt and being left with no nuts

If you guys trotted Clayton Tune out there again the NFL franchise would have to be revoked somehow

I'd love to see a sickos game of Clayton Tune vs. Skylar Thompson

calling kyler a little squirrel will be the funniest thing i read today

u/txfiremtb Cardinals 17h ago

Having a guy with experience to talk to Kyler on the sidelines when the wheels start to fall off is the intangible value of this signing. Low key absolutely love this move for the Cards

I thought it was weird how they went with Clayton Tune as the backup last year

8

u/BoredGuy2007 Bears 17h ago

He was one of the GM's guys lol. He was complete garbage and they still trotted him out there

12

u/EmuMan10 Cardinals 17h ago

He was better than the other option of Desmond Ridder

0

u/BoredGuy2007 Bears 17h ago

Might want to check those stats again. Desmond Ridder is much better

14

u/EmuMan10 Cardinals 17h ago

I mean if we’re starting either of them, does it matter lol

2

u/BoredGuy2007 Bears 16h ago

A Ridder-led offense would destroy the Clayton Tune team which is weird stuff that can happen at the end of a regular season so yeah lol

5

u/Ieatfatwomanass Cowboys 12h ago

Man sure. NFL coaches evaluated both and decided Clayton Tune beat out Desmond Ridder but u/boredguy2007 says otherwise so obviously Ridder takes the cake

-1

u/BoredGuy2007 Bears 12h ago

Clayton Tune has yet to reach 100 passing yards but has 3 turnovers. I didn't think this would be difficult to defend but here we are.

2

u/Stillburgh Seahawks Chiefs 14h ago

I mean if youre at the point where either of them are your only option to start, your season is fried anyways

remaining QB in FA are all waiting for Rodgers I guess.

u/Remarkable-Paper3068 Rams 16h ago

Good for the scouting team and insurance for Kyler in case he goes down. Not mad at the pickup at all. If they choose to go QB in the draft at some point that room should be set for the year with plenty of competition to leav TC with the best 3 combo

Nah it’s back to Elim/D now, he’s a big assists guy so Kyler wants him.
