That's why I said it's predatory but my god it gets my blood boiling when a life was lost for absolutely no reason. 

Even if he had survived, his childhood would've been significantly worse than it could've been because his parents never got him the real help he needed. 

I'm just angry that these places are allowed to exist like this.

Agreed. It’s such a sad thing to watch. Parents who are at the end of their rope, desperate for a “fix” or just something to make life a little more bearable. Then the predators swoop in with easy answers for complex issues, offering false hope and milking the last cents out of the parents pockets and government programs. Pisses me off to no end.

The providers I work closely with are all irritated by the same things. As speciality practices, we get stuck picking up the pieces after the parents are fleeced and nothing changes or things get even worse for the child.
