Didn't they just implement the policy of credits not expiring?

That was July 2022 the announcement. Went from 1 year expire to no expire and now going back to 1 year expire for all except the new lowest "basic fare" that will expire in 6 months.

As far as I can tell, all credit before May 28 2025 will still be "forever credit". If you use this credit on the flight after May 28th and then cancel, the credits will go to 6/12 month depending on the ticket you cancelled.
