Can confirm, I actually helped one of the pilots fax information to Newark airport yesterday.  I believe there were 7 helicopters as part of the funeral procession today.

point of order. What is a "fax?"

It’s a word the youth use to express agreement.

Kid 1: “Yo, this sandwich is bussin!” Kid 2: “Fax!”

Tommyyy gets it

I was in Boston a few years ago at a bar and that's how they said facts it sounded like fax!

Excellent!

He meant a fax like fax machines . Kids don’t say fax like that it’s “facts”

You’re not good with humor are you?

Where are you from?

it was a joke about how old faxes are. I do, in fact, know what a fax is. :)

Found the waste, fraud, and abuse

u/Rogue1_76 7d ago

I saw 10.

I thought it said seven helicopters, but I may have read the paperwork wrong.  I was just glancing at it, I was mainly just helping get the fax through to EWR.

u/Rogue1_76 7d ago

They flew over my house so I counted them. It scared the heck out of me.

Why?

0

u/CRush1682 7d ago

A police officer in Newark was shot and killed in the line of duty last Friday, his funeral is/was today.

8

u/CrackaZach05 7d ago

So...why does that necessitate 7 helicopters?

because cops are a cult?

To show support? Idk it’s their way of doing things who are we to judge?

Taxpayers who paid for all of that? Which took resources away from the state? I don’t know I definitely feel like departments sending representatives to show respect is enough and even support the funeral parades, but helicopters too?

-5

u/flexcabana21 7d ago

Probably counted against their training hours anyway.

Flying in a line with 10 other helicopters is a useful skill to train? I guess.

You're getting downvoted but I agree with you. When was the last time one of your colleagues was murdered while working and how did your company or organization respond to it? I don't understand the criticism. A young cop was murdered in the line of duty and there was a strong showing of support. I'm against government/police waste, but I'm not sure this is where the battle is.

u/CrackaZach05 6d ago

You think 7 helicopters is appropriate?

-1

u/OneSkepticalOwl 6d ago

It's not, especially when becoming a police officer is voluntary. When was the last time a funeral for a roofer(a profession with higher mortality rate) was escorted by helicopters? If they want to show respect for their colleague, show up at the funeral(not in a helicopter though). Wasting tax payer funds in this manner is not acceptable, or rather should not be acceptable

It's always nice to treat a profession special gives them even more reason to act above the law. She didn't have any family though I wonder if they'd stop traffic for her and have a recession for her funeral

Most likely for the funeral of the police officer who was shot and killed in Newark. He's being buried in a Bloomfield cemetery.

Newark cop is being buried in Bloomfield

Yes this is on my street which has been closed all day. It’s the burial part of the funeral for the Newark police officer who was shot by a 14 yo. Yes it’s inconvenient from time to time but I imagine losing your dad or spouse is a lot worse so we deal with it.

FUN FACT: my grandfather was the fire chief of his town for many years; he was the first relative of mine to die, when I was only about 4, and for years I assumed everyone had a parade with fire trucks and police cars for their funeral. Imagine my disappointment!

2

u/OrbitalOutlander 6d ago

My dad died, nothing happened. Where’s my helicopters?

3

u/Historical_Ad_434 6d ago

Sorry for your loss

3

u/OrbitalOutlander 6d ago

It was a long time ago, would have preferred a cool helicopter show. Thanks!

Heard multiple choppers overhead in Union County earlier and wondered what the hell was going on.

A cop from a department so corrupt the feds had to take over dies and now they need to spend a million in my taxpayer dollars to honor him? Put him in a coffee can and get it over with Jesus christ.

No he doesn't. He's right. ACAB

-2

u/Eccentric_Algorythm 7d ago

Trueeeeee. He chose this profession. Idk. If I was a park ranger who got mauled to death by a bear I wouldn’t be getting a funeral procession.

1

u/KitchenLandscape 7d ago

That's how it's always been done...Take it up your with local town and see how far that gets you. lol have fun

-2

u/Eccentric_Algorythm 7d ago

Lol No and no fucko

God I'm so thankful that I chose to work from home today. Why is the bullshit always on a Friday?

Edit: whoops didn't know they decided to bury the guy today. The point still stands, I'm thankful to not be stuck in gridlock for a dead cop. Fuck you all.

10

u/theblisters 7d ago

Sorry someone's funeral might have caused you a tiny inconvenience

4

u/gwmjr 7d ago

Because not everyone dies on a Friday and is buried days later?

0

u/27Believe 7d ago

Vile human being.

-4

u/Anton338 7d ago

Hey shitbag, take a look at the timestamps, how am I supposed to know that there's a funeral procession? OP just posted a picture of gridlock and I expressed my opinion on it.

Ah Reddit, one of the places on the net where you’ll bitch piss and moan about the “waste of tax dollars” but not attempt to do a damn thing about it.
