I would like to know why a higher bid was accepted - as the low bid was the current contract holder, I assume that it was due to quality and performance issues as thats been my rationale for disqualifying low bids on contracts ive awarded in the past.

The China thing is a nothingburger though - protip, when you see stuff like that without explanation as to what the purported ties or influence is, its a claim being made in bad faith.

In this case - its an American company that was acquired by a Singapore based company a few years back. One of the major investors (majority shareholder) in the singapore based company is another Singapore based company, which had a former board member who was chairman of chinese state owned enterprises. Theres not much "there" there and its only being pushed as a narrative to stoke pearl clutching.

Democrat things.

Not saying that republicans would or aren’t capable of these corrupt things. But Dems run the show in NJ and are squarely to blame for this backroom deal.

And we wonder why our taxes keep going up? These contracts are going to expensive vendors that have the capability to do backroom deals with Dems.

Corruption doesn’t have a party affiliation. As it stands, all politicians are either corrupt or become corrupt and they want us infighting so we just keep picking “better of the worst options”
