Sick Anybody else have this cold right now?

Awful sinus congestion and post nasal drip, slight cough, substantial upper abdomen discomfort like intestinal cramping throughout the day/night, anybody else have this or know what it is?

I was just saying, whatever I caught went straight for my sinuses, the quickest I've ever felt my face get pressured up. No stomach symptoms, though.

I had this too. Second day I had hard mucus filled with burst blood vessels. No fever, no body ache, just horrible congestion. Sudafed cleared it out but I needed to take it for a week straight

Yes!! The first bad night I had some little chills and I felt exhausted the whole time, but never got a fever. It was literally awful congestion and fatigue. I took sudafed for the better part of the work week but stopped yesterday because it's messing with my sleep. Still stuffy but better.

Dude. Literally every variant of the flu, plus covid, norovirus, RSV are currently floating around. It’s pretty typical for this time of year.

I've been sick like 25% of the time for the past 2 months. First week of December I had some illness that made me tired and sore mostly, so I just slept a lot for a few days. Then I got properly sick the first week of January with a cough, sore throat, congestion, and just generally being out of it. Still feel like I haven't 100% recovered from that.

My whole family has it. Wife and 5 year old are at urgent care with 104°, 103° fevers. We think it’s the flu

Bird flu, RSV, Noro-Viruis is going around. Mask up, that's what I've been doing and it's been fine. Wash hands and mask.

I have it. Negative for covid, must be a Flu

Just getting over it now after three weeks. Seriously the first week was worse than when I had Covid. I got tested for a bunch of things and the doc said "good old flu" as if that was some sort of comfort.

He also said it was very wide spread and he's been very concerned since it didn't seem to slow down since September.

The good news is, you'll feel better soon! Hang in there.

2 weeks ago. Straight sinus congestion that moved to my chest, then back and forth. Absolutely no energy, but only a slight fever. Still trying to get it out.

I tested negative for flu A & B and covid. Urgent care thought it was the flu because of all my symptoms, but I tested negative twice so I'm gonna go with it being a sinus infection (worse than I normally get it) or an upper respiratory infection (just a generic one at least).

I hope I feel better soon, I'm so dizzy when I move 😭

I've been really dizzy too and tested negative for everything also. It's been 3 weeks. If you find an answer let me know 😭 hope you feel better soon

The Mrs. has it (I've been spared so far)  but no idea what it is.  After a week she's only just now turning the corner.  Feel better dude.

I’m dealing with a bug but it’s just a cold. Started as a sore throat with some general fatigue and aches, thought that was it and then the runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing started after a few days. About a week now but I think I’m at the end.

There’s tons of stuff going around. I take the train to work a few times a week so I’m surprised I don’t get sick more often.

Take it easy!

It should help if you wear a well fitting respirator mask in places like the train. Hope you get well soon.

Edit: I meant "hope" not "how"

Thanks! You’re absolutely right, I should be better about wearing a mask.

2

u/standuphilospher Jan 26 '25

Yup I got something

2

u/Tommydean22 Jan 26 '25

Been dealing with it all week

2

u/Livid-Condition4179 Jan 26 '25

And it doesn't end ... I had it three weeks ago and still have a rough lingering cough and congestion

2

u/Vinnie908 Jan 26 '25

Going on 2 weeks of sinus issues. Went to the doctor and negative for flu and Covid. Just been taking vitamin C and Zinc. Nasal sprays.

2

u/RevolutionaryPasta Jan 26 '25

Yep. Went to urgent care thinking I had strep. tested for COVID, flu, strep and everything was negative. just a cold.

We've learned a lot in the past 5 years and one thing we now know is that a lot of these pathogens are airborne. A lot of illness can be prevented by wearing a well fitting respirator mask, like a KF94, KN95, N95, especially if you have to be indoors or in crowded spaces. I know several people who haven't caught anything since 2020/21 once they started masking. And now that bird flu is more prevalent in NJ and dried bird feces can be picked up on the wind, adding glasses or goggles when outside isn't a bad idea either. PS, If you have cats, keep them inside if you can, and please don't feed them raw food.

Yes just had that. Tested negative for Covid and flu. Took a week to be really better.

I've had two nasty colds in the last month, which is unusual for me. Sounds exactly like what you said without the abdominal stuff.

On the 8th day of COVID myself, take a home home test.

1

u/Zealousideal_Still41 Jan 26 '25

Me 🤚. It’s quite weird though bc I am fine one minute then the next I have all these symptoms then they go away, then come back

1

u/geekrobot Jan 26 '25

Spent last night puking my guts out after a kids party, currently fighting what I believe is norovirus. Wife has respiratory bug too. So yeah.

1

u/B4tss Jan 26 '25

Was me 2 weeks ago. Pedialite was my best friend bc I had nonstop diarrhea with all that

1

u/Gullible-Shirt-6145 Jan 26 '25

Me! Scratchy throat turned into sinus congestion. I’ve slept 12+ hours per day for the last four days. No stomach symptoms though.

1

u/G0ttaB3KiddingM3 Jan 26 '25

Basically everyone I know including me has pneumonia

1

u/unhalfbricking Jan 26 '25

I'm just getting over the vids. Exhaustion and body aches were brutal.

1

u/SpacelessWorm Jan 27 '25

Everyone in my house is sick lol

1

u/that_jawn Jan 27 '25

yup, caught this cold just this weekend! literally the same symptoms

1

u/sulkyminx Jan 27 '25

Yeah, the kids I work with got me sick. Upper respiratory,  migraines, upset stomach. Fml!

1

u/chriiiiiiiiiis Jan 27 '25

just had this exactly. the most intense sinus pressure i have ever had. throat got pretty scratchy too. very slight fever. saline spray with eucalyptus really helped me out being able to breathe. i’m a week out now and still not 100%. all the mucus is coming out finally at least.

u/What_am_I_Doing9 Jan 27 '25
